I love a good faux fur vest. So when we woke up to our first snow in the SLC yesterday morning, a cozy vest was the first thing the I reached for. For me, they are a winter staple. Plus, this outfit would be another great option for your Thanksgiving day dinner!

Olive and nude is always a favorite color combo of mine. And this olive tunic is so soft and cozy (and under $40!), it’s pretty much my favorite purchase of the Fall season. I’m also loving this faux suede vest. It is just one of those pieces that I will be able to get a ton of wear out of. And you know I always love (and recommend) pieces that are a good investment!

P.S. I am going to take a little mini-break from my social media/blog for the next couple of days. I love a good tunic paired back to skinny jeans and a staple pair of pumps. It’s definitely a go-to look for me. And when I’m on the hunt for a new tunic, Free People is always a brand that I look to first. They have some of the best tops around, in my opinion. Confession: I ordered this “top” thinking that it was a dress. But when it arrived, it was much too short, and the slit was way too high (yikes!) for me to wear it as a dress, let alone in public. Ha! But I loved the print and fabric so much (it is a nice, sturdy scuba material), that I stewed over how to wear it for a while, not wanting to return it. And I finally decided that it could indeed be worn be worn as a top. In the end, while I still wish it was a dress, I am loving how it looks with leggings, and can’t wait to wear it again when the temperature drops with a cute blazer or leather jacket.

It’s no secret I love prints of all colors, patterns, and variations. They are such a fun and easy way to add interest to any outfit. Plus, with the recent acceptability to mix prints of all kinds, they lend to creating endless outfit combinations in your closet.
One of my favorite places to find a good print is at H&M. Since specific patterns don’t tend to stay on trend for very long periods of time, I don’t typically like to invest in them, but rather prefer to pick up inexpensive and fun prints that I can play with for a time and easily let go when they have run their course. Such is the case with the below top. While I have lots of great prints in my closet, I don’t have any watercolor prints, so knew it was a perfect addition to my closet the moment I saw it. I love how feminine this top is and that it is one of those great hybrids that I can wear for work or play. Plus, it’s just long enough that I can tie it at the waist if I so desire!

In addition to being pretty, and feminine, and versatile, I also love that this top is a very unique multi-color ombre-essentially it goes with just about everything. So when you are out shopping for prints, try to look for something similar to this top that will not only allow you to be creative, but will also function as an easy piece to accessorize and pair with multiple items in your closet.
