I love anything that sparkles. Especially if it adds an element of fun to an otherwise classic piece. So when I saw this jacket at Express while I was in SF last wee, I knew it was a perfect addition to my closet. I wear denim jackets all the time (especially this time of year), and I love that I now have a bit of a dressier option in my closet. I can tell this jacket is going to be on heavy repeat in my closet this year!

Essential Fall

Every year when fall rolls around, there are a couple of key elements that I always seem to gravitate towards (especially on the weekends). And in no particular order, those items are: a basic long-sleeved gray tee, a novelty vest, destroyed dark denim, and cognac booties. Denim on Denim

I’m always a little hesitant to wear two denim pieces together. It probably stems from growing up in Montana and not wanting to be caught in the dreaded “Canadian Tuxedo” (or as I am sure they call it, the “Montana Tuxedo”). But I have found that if your two denims differ enough, then wearing denim on denim is perfectly acceptable, and even quite stylish given the current trend! So take it from me and don’t be afraid to rock your denim pieces together-just make sure you have some contrast!

White Out

I love white bags and have been wanting to add one to my collection for quite some time. And while I only had three specific features I knew the bag had to have (saffiano leather, gold hardware, and a structured shape), I had a really hard time finding just the right one. Well thank goodness for Rebecca Minkoff and her huge spring sample sale coinciding with my birthday this year! I was able to snatch up the Avery tote which is not only gorgeous (and one of my favorite RM bags EVER), but it also met all of my white bag requirements. AND the icing on top of the cake? I was able to get it for less than half of the regular retail price! My favorite kind of purchase!

Proud To Be An American

I had good intentions of getting this post up in time for Memorial Day, but ended up being too busy having fun with my family (who was in town for the weekend) to sit down and do any blogging. So my apologies for the absence of outfit posts the past few days! But since I’m really digging the patriotic feel of what I wore for our Memorial Day BBQ, I still wanted to share it with all of you!

I love the combination of red, white, and blue-or in this case, neon coral, white, and blue. And of course what could be more American than adding a little pop of denim to an ensemble? So even though Memorial Day weekend has (sadly) come and gone, I love this outfit for a multitude of different summer occasions-including the 4th of July, or really any summer BBQ for that matter….

Vacation Style

Hola!! This morning I am writing this post to you guys from San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua. If you checked out any of last week’s posts, or follow me on Instagram (alldolledupblog), then you know Justin and I are on vacation. And what a glorious vacation it has been! This is our 2nd time in SJDS and we are absolutely in love. Beautiful town, wonderful people, and an incredibly laid back lifestyle which has made it pretty easy for us to just kick back and relax. The biggest question of the day tends to be whether to go to the beach (surfing for J), or hang by the pool at our house.

We didn’t bring our DSLR with us, so J snapped these photos with his phone out on our patio while we were enjoying our favorite time of the day here…the sunset. Even Jack (our guard dog), loves to sit and watch the sunset with us and insisted in being in some of the photos with me. 🙂 Maxi skirts, minimal jewelry, and bright tanks have pretty much been my go-to uniform since we’ve been here (outside of bathing suits). And I am loving the super high slit of this maxi. Pretty sure it’s my favorite thing that I packed-not to mention that it cost less than $20!!! Tough to beat that!
