FPF: Polka Dots

Pretty sure I’ve blogged enough about polka dots to give them a deserving spot on my FPF list. Whether it’s a top, a pair of shoes, a bag, a skirt, a dress, or a pair of pants, polka dots are one of those trends that can truly work for everyone. I mean really, how many other patterns are out there with the ability to portray both a youthful and sophisticated feel?

Happy, happy Friday everyone!  I am back visiting my old stomping grounds of Bozeman, MT for the weekend and am so looking forward to getting some miles on my bike, checking out some of my old favorite places, and of course, getting to see friends we haven’t seen in far too long.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Bandwagon

I’m officially on the bandwagon-the chevron bandwagon, that is. And while I have always loved the print for party decorations, home decor, rugs, throw pillows, napkins, and pretty much anything else I see on Pinterest, I have never been totally wild about the bold print on clothing. Until I saw this cute mini-chevron print blouse at American Eagle, that is. I love the small take on a bold favorite and that it’s the perfect complement to the black and white trend this spring…

And of course, my favorite accent color back to black and white is pink.  There is just something about that combo that I love.  And what better way to add color to an outfit than with a pair of shoes?

Happy Thursday!

Two In One

Today I want to share one of my favorite tricks with you. And that my friends, is wearing a dress as a skirt. It’s such a simple and fun way to double your wardrobe by creating multiple looks with one item-plus it’s also a great money saver. I chose to wear a knotted t-shirt over my dress in this post, but button downs are also an easy option for layering (see here)…

I am LOVING the cap toe trend this season.  And this particular nude and silver pair is definitely one of my favorites.  Not only are they are a great staple that goes with just about everything, but the pop of metallic takes them up a notch making them not just a great neutral, but fun too! And fun is definitely important when it comes to shoes!!!

Happy hump day!

Drop It Like It’s Hot

Drop. Waist. Dresses. I am absolutely LOVING this look. It is so fresh and such a welcome update to all of the trends we have been seeing as of late. They are fun, flirty, and a fall must-have if you love to wear dresses (like I do). And given my penchant for mixing sassy and sweet, I knew the combo of leather and chiffon made this dress a must have for my fall wardrobe…

The only challenge with drop waist dresses this time of year is finding something to wear over them. I tried several blazers and different jackets with this dress, but none looked like quite right. So I ended up settling on wearing it with a plain long-sleeved black tee underneath, in true jumper fashion. But I am looking forward to playing around with it and coming up with more ways to style this piece. Perhaps a starched white blouse underneath will be my next concoction. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

My very cute, and very funny little dog, Charlie, kept photo-bombing my blog photos this weekend.  What can I say?  She loves shoes.  In fact, when she was a puppy my favorite heels somehow always became her favorite chew toys (NOT good).  But since we share a love for fashion, I figured I’d let her make her first cameo in today’s post!  😉
