Plaid Vest

You know I love a good vest.  And a plaid vest?  Even better.  It’s the perfect way to complete an outfit and looks great styled with dresses, or paired with denim for a more casual look.

First Day Of Fall

Happy first day of Fall, friends!  Can you believe that summer has officially come and gone?  I always hate it when summer goes, but I am definitely ready for all things pumpkin and cozy.  The only problem is, it’s been blazing hot here in the SLC, which has made it nearly impossible to layer up.  But I’ve still been able to get a start wearing my favorite Fall trends by adding things like lace-up pumps, and cocoon vests to my looks.  A perfect (and easy) way to get that Fall vibe while the weather is still hot.

P.S.  I have been having issues with my camera, which is why my images haven’t been quite as sharp lately.  Working on getting it fixed, so thanks for bearing with me!

In-Vested

I love a good vest.  And when I saw this cute number on one of my favorite bloggers, I knew it would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe.  But now that this piece is hanging in my closet, what I especially love about it is how cozy it is.  It’s more like a giant blanket scarf/wrap and is the perfect piece for layering up for a little added extra warmth.  I know it will also be a go-to for me during my frequent work travels during the colder months. And even better? It’s less than $16 and also comes in black and gray!

Olive The Other Sequins

One of my favorite aspects about fashion (and home decor!) is repurposing things that I already own.  And this sequin JCrew dress is a great example. I picked it up on clearance this summer and loved wearing it during the warmer months.  But because December is the month of sequins (and lots of red and green!), I wanted to try styling it for colder weather.  So I layered it with my favorite Portofino shirt from Express, and a new vest (that I’m completely obsessed with, BTW).  And I have to say, I love the result.  This is an outfit that would be great for a company Christmas party, a girl’s night out, or pretty much any dressy event that the month of December serves up!

I might have A LOT of them AND they’re buy one get one 50% off!) | Vest: Shein c/o (it’s under $30 and one of my favorite things in my wardrobe right now and the quality is great!  I’m wearing a medium for reference and I’m 5’3″ and a size 4/6) | Sunnies: Karen Walker c/o Ditto (try them for FREE for one month with code: ALLDOLLEDUP) | Cuffs: Stella & Dot | Necklace: Gigglosophy (under $35 and a great gift for yourself or a friend!) | Bag: Clare Vivier (sold out), clutch version | Pumps: BCBG (LOVE these! And they aren’t really this tight-my feet were super swollen from flying!)

Hope you all are having a great week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Gingham

This gingham romper was one of my very favorite purchases of the summer.  And because I’m not ready to put it away quite yet, I decided to change it up a bit and style it with a utility vest and booties to make it more appropriate for the Fall season.  And you know what?  It totally works and I am really loving the look.  What are some creative ways you guys transition your favorite summer pieces into cooler months?  I’d love to hear!

People Style Watch Magazine Feature

If you follow me on Instagram, or if you’ve picked up the most recent issue of People Style Watch Magazine, then you know that I was featured in their August edition of the “You Got It Right” section! (insert excited squeal here!) And I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilled, flattered, and honored I am that they would select one of my outfits to share in their magazine.  It is seriously a dream come true.  And to be honest, I’m having a hard time even wrapping my head around it!

So today, I thought I would share a bit of the back story with you.  People had actually reached out to me in April letting me know they wanted to use my photo. And so in turn, I filled out some model release forms, did an interview, and after several emails back and forth, was told I would most likely be in the August issue of the magazine (barring any last-minute editing changes), but that they would confirm with me when they went to press. After that, I never heard back from them.  I even sent a follow-up email that received no response, and so I figured I must have been left on the cutting room floor. But when I arrived at the SLC airport following a work trip on the day the issue hit stands, my phone lit up like a Christmas tree, buzzing with Facebook and text messages from friends near and far telling me the news.  As you can imagine-it was a pretty thrilling moment.  So I rushed to the nearest newsstand, found a copy, opened it up, and THERE. I. WAS!  Little old me in a magazine!  Insane I tell you, and a pretty sweet moment that I won’t soon forget!

People Style Watch

I’ve also had quite a few questions on product details.  The outfit I’m wearing in the magazine is actually from a post I did back in March, but I have listed all of the details and links below.  You can also feel free to click here if you want to see the original post.

Neon Crush

Clearly I am obsessed with neon yellow right now.  It is such a bright and happy color and just oozes summer time to me.  So when I saw this neon yellow lace dress at JCrew, I knew it was the perfect thing to add to my closet.  And because I wanted to be able to wear it not just on special occasions, but on casual ones too, pairing it back to an uber cool surplus vest seemed like just the ticket to tone it down a notch.  And if you’re a regular follower of this blog, then you know I love a good completer piece.  But be sure to check back later this week, as I’ll be showing you how I wore this dress without the vest too!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  I have to tell you guys, my travel schedule has been so crazy, between vacation, work, and a bike race this weekend for the hubs, I woke up in 5 (5!!!) different town last week.  So I couldn’t be happier that I am going to be home (and sleeping in my own bed!) for the next two weeks!  Hallelujah!

Happy Monday, dolls!

L’eggs Sweepstakes!

Do you guys remember L’eggs when they were sold in the iconic egg packaging?  I know I sure do. And because I always thought of them as an ’80’s staple, I was surprised (and excited!) when they contacted me and asked me to be a part of their 40th birthday celebration and re-launch of their limited edition egg packaging.  Now to be totally honest, I have always been on the fence when it comes to pantyhose and tights, and always have been.  But with the popularity of tights and pantyhose over the last year, I figured why not give them a try.  And I have to say-I am SO happy that I did.  Not only are L’eggs totally affordable (and easy to find-check your local drug store!), but they are super comfy with just the right amount of control around the tummy and thighs.  And with all of these in-between temperatures as we transition into warmer weather, they are the perfect accessory if you are anxious to start wearing all of your spring/summer dresses and skirts (like I am!).

In today’s post, I am wearing the sun-tan shade which gave my winter white legs just the right hint of color and smoothed out all of the unevenness caused by those long winter months of nothing but pants.  In fact, when we shot these photos, my hubby didn’t even realize that I was wearing pantyhose.  BUT he did tell me that my legs looked great!  So be sure to check out L’eggs at your local drug store and go here for your chance to win $1,000 cash and a fabulous trip to Las Vegas! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Vest Friend

This vest has been my best friend lately and on constant rotation in my closet.  Not only is it the ideal outfit completer, but vests are the perfect transitional piece for this time of year.  And how about these Michael Kors shoes?  I am OBSESSED!  Not only are they super cute, but they just might be the comfiest pair of shoes in my closet right now…

Sleeved

I have had my eye on this leopard sleeved Townsen sweatshirt for SO LONG!  But I just couldn’t justify paying full price for it (because I don’t pay full price for anything-seriously!).  So when it went on sale for less than half price right after Christmas, I knew I had to pounce (no pun intended!).  And I am certainly glad that I did.  If you follow me on Instagram (AllDolledUpBlog), then you know I rocked a very similar outfit to this one a couple of weeks ago for a shopping date with one of my best friends at Nordstrom.  And there was so much interest in the details of my look, that I decided it should make an appearance on the blog.  So all of you ladies who wanted outfit details, please see below!

Lips: Nars Heat Wave

I hope that you all had a most wonderful Super Bowl weekend!  We had a great weekend skiing at the resorts and in the backcountry, celebrating the 4th birthday of one of our very favorite little guys, and of course cheering on the Seahawks and the Broncos in the Super Bowl!  It’s not very often that all your homies from the west make it into the big dance.  So even though we may have slightly sided with the Broncos (Peyton is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met), it was still pretty rad to see the west  represent!

Happy Monday!
