Cold Shoulder

It felt like spring here in the SLC this weekend, so I used it as an opportunity to take my pretty new sweater out for a spin. And I have to say, it really is the perfect transitional piece. Not only are the colors and the off-the-shoulder styling perfect for spring, but the fabric is super warm and cozy, which makes it appropriate to wear now. This is definitely a piece that will be getting a lot of use in my wardrobe as we transition from winter to spring.

Utility

One thing I learned when I started All Dolled Up is that my sense of style is pretty repetitive when it comes down to it. So blogging has been a great exercise for me to push myself to wear things I normally wouldn’t. But one item that has and always will be a favorite in my closet, is a great utility vest. And for me personally (all blogging aside), it really doesn’t get any better than a utility vest styled with my favorite leopard pumps, my favorite jeans, and my favorite thermal tunic top. So if you are looking for an easy, go-to outfit to add to your rotation, this is a great one that is super easy to recreate!

Personal Favorites

Whether you know me through the blog, or know me in person, then you probably know that I love vests. I am also a big fan of stripes. So it should come as no surprise that today’s outfit is a typical go-to uniform for me. You know those outfits that just feel comfortable? This is one of those for me. An easy, breezy combo that still feels put together, all while being super comfortable. Perfect for a Monday.

Winter Florals

Even though it’s the dead of winter, I can’t help but find myself already wishing for spring. So I’ve been slowly starting to incorporate some florals and brights back into my wardrobe. And this Free People top is a new favorite! I have it tied here to make it a little shorter in the front, but it’s a great tunic length and would look perfect (untied) with tights or leggings.

But I’m curious to know, do you guys feel about wearing florals in the winter?

If you are looking to step up your outerwear game this season, then I would highly recommend trying a furry or fuzzy coat. I love a good turtleneck. But I also love a good cowl neck. And this cute and cozy waffle knit cowl from Free People has been a go-to for me all season. Faux Fur

When I was in the 3rd grade, my auntie gave me a gorgeous white fur coat for Christmas. And let me tell you, I was absolutely enamored with it. That is until I overheard she and my mom talking about it on the phone and the fact that it was made from “bunnies”. And after I heard that, I never wore the coat again. But even though I learned form a very young age that I was not a proponent of real fur, I did stumble upon a love for faux fur that has never wavered. And every year when the temperature drops, I look forward to pulling out all of my faux fur pieces, especially my faux fur vests!!

Winter Pastels

I love that it’s perfectly acceptable to wear pastels any time of the year now. So when I saw this pale pink sweater at JCrew recently, I was immediately drawn to it. Not only do I love the color, but it’s a nice relaxed fit which is little bit on the longer side, though not quite tunic length-which is a favorite silhouette of mine. I know that this will be a piece that I can style a multitude of different ways this season. And if you aren’t into pink (or pastels in the winter for that matter!), don’t worry, it comes in a ton of other colors too!

Leopard and Plaid

There is something about the Fall season that makes me want to print mix. And one of my all-time favorite combos to put together is leopard and plaid. So if you haven’t tried mixing these two prints yet, then I challenge you to test it out this Fall.
