The Tour of Utah was this weekend and J and I were lucky enough to score VIP tickets to the stage 4 circuit race in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday evening. And because we knew thousands of people would be heading downtown for the event, we decided to ride our cruisers to the Capital building-the location of the Start/Finish. And while I obviously wanted to look nice for the event, I also had to be practical when choosing an outfit that could not only stand up to the heat, but that would also be comfortable for a bike ride as well. And I have to say, one of my favorite dresses of the summer did just the trick…

Vacay

J and I are officially on vacation-and boy does it feel good! And even though we’re only two days in, we’ve already gotten to do some pretty cool things. Including seeing my brother play at one of our favorite watering holes on Flathead Lake. And I must say, while living out of a suitcase for extended periods of time can tend to pose various challenges, I was happy that I thought to pack my favorite mullet skirt, graphic tee, and jean vest, which made for the perfect combination of comfy, yet effortlessly cool summer fashion to wear for the occasion…

Not only are they are a great staple that goes with just about everything, but the pop of metallic takes them up a notch making them not just a great neutral, but fun too! I love a good tassel necklace. Maybe it’s because I’m from Montana and they remind me of a (fashionable) bolo tie, or maybe it’s just because they feel so new and different this season. Either way, a tassel necklace is an easy piece for anyone to wear and something simple (and inexpensive) everyone should add to their wardrobe this spring!

My Vest Accessory

If you follow this blog, then you know how obsessed I have been with my denim vest over the span of the last year. And to be totally honest, I don’t see my love affair with denim vests dying out anytime soon. But when I was in H&M recently and spotted this long, lean, surplus vest complete with a little sparkle, I knew my favorite denim version might finally have met its match.

80’s Accent

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. I love neon. And despite being raised in the 80’s, I am still working on getting my neon fix. But instead of layering multiple neons together, I am loving it as an accent, especially when paired back to unexpected neutrals!

Spring Has Sprung
