I love a good striped dress. And with the slightly cooler weather here in the SLC that has been layering itself in with our typically hot temps, I have found that some evenings, it’s nice to have a light coat with me as an option. Plus these tassel shoes. I can’t even. I’m pretty sure they are my favorite purchase from the #NSale. They are less than $90 and also come in black and red. I am really on a stripe kick these days. And this dress from Express is seriously one of my very pieces in my closet. It is cute and comfy and the perfect piece to throw on for a BBQ, bike ride, dinner at home, or for a night on the town. All you have to do is change out your shoes and jewelry and it takes on a completely different personality every time. In fact, I love this dress so much (and it’s on sale for such a great price!) that I just picked it up in two more colors! If there is one dress you buy this summer, I am telling you, this is the one. You’re welcome!

I love a good jacket! Especially this time of year when the temps are warming up, but it’s not quite warm enough (at least where I live!) to go without some layers. I had been eyeing this jacket at JCrew for quite some time, so when I finally went on sale, I pounced. It is a classic piece that I will have in my closet for years to come and lately that is what I am trying to focus on-making smart shopping decisions.

Sometimes there is nothing better than a great stripe. It’s a tried and true print that never goes out of style and looks great in tops, jackets, pants, shoes, even bags! So if you don’t have any stripes in your closet, or if you have been too busy wearing florals this spring and neglecting your stripes (like me!), then it’s definitely time to revisit! I love the black and white trend this season. And because black is such a staple (and something I know all of you already own in your own personal wardrobes), this should be an easy trend for anyone to get in on this season without necessarily having to pick up anything new. And while black and white is a relatively safe trend to try, bordering on the more serious and sophisticated side of style, remember that it’s okay to have a little fun with it and think outside of the box too-like mixing graphic prints and stripes together.
