Rose Quartz Skirt

I have absolutely been loving shades of blush and rose quartz this season.  And this sweet pleated skirt has quickly become a favorite in my wardrobe.  Not only is it easy and fun to style (with some serious twirl factor!), but it’s less than $40, and a perfect choice for those holiday parties coming up this month!

Midi

I’m not very tall, at only 5’3″, so I typically shy away from midi-length dresses and skirts since I sometimes think they tend to swallow me up.  But that’s not to say I don’t keep trying to find styles in this length that work for me.  So I was pleasantly surprised when I found a couple of midi-length dresses at the Gap recently that are not only super soft and comfy, but are also really flattering (you can see the other midi-dress here).  Plus this dress will look great with a leather jacket during the Fall season.  DSC_2717 DSC_2719 DSC_2783 DSC_2737 DSC_2732 DSC_2761 DSC_2729 DSC_2782

Transitioning

I’m having a hard time believing that it’s already August.  And I can’t help but find myself starting to think about Fall, and purchasing transitional and Fall specific pieces.

So in today’s post, I wanted to share with you this super cute dress and how I’m wearing it now, and how I’m going to wear it when the temperatures start dropping.  Like I’ve said a lot on this blog, I love re-styling items and investing in pieces that will get a lot of use in my wardrobe.

P.S. How cute is my sweet Chloe girl?  She normally hates having her picture taken, but insisted on making a cameo in this post! 🙂

Romper

I love a good romper.  And this one just might be my favorite.  Ever.  I am always a fan of anything navy, which was originally why I was drawn to it, but the tie waist makes it particularly flattering.  Plus the length isn’t too short-which is always something I seem to struggle with when it comes to rompers.  So if you’re looking for an easy, flattering romper (for a great price!), then this is the one, ladies!

Don’t forget, there are just a couple of days left to shop the #NSale!  You can shop my favorites here (most items have been restocked!).  And be sure to check back tomorrow for one last round-up of some of my favorite beauty and active items from the sale!

Happy Friday, sweet friends!

Cropped

No matter how old you are, I believe there are ways to participate in the trends of the season (with a little tweaking here and there) to make them age appropriate. Take the cropped trend for example. I have been wanting to give this style a try for quite a while, but I’m obviously not going to be running around town showing off my stomach.  So I was pleasantly surprised to find this top that is just long to keep me covered, but just short enough to fall into the cropped category.  It also doesn’t hurt that it’s off-the-shoulder (which is my absolute favorite trend this season)!

I’d love to know, do you guys like to try out modified versions of different trends?

P.S. You’ll have to excuse my wild hair in this post-it was super windy when I took these photos!

Red, White, and Blue

So, I’m kind of sort of obsessed with this dress.  And you know why?  Because it is one of the most versatile pieces in my closet.  I love that I can totally dress it up (like in today’s post), or that I could wear with it with a pair of Chuck Taylors, or some cute wedges and a floppy hat.  Pieces like this, my friends, are the best and most cost-effective things you can add to your wardrobe.  Plus, wouldn’t this dress be super cute dressed down for the 4th of July?

Off Shoulder

I have to tell you guys, I am pretty much obsessing over the off-the-shoulder trend.  This is definitely going to be a go-to style for me this season.  Plus, how cute is the print on this top?  So fun for Spring (and Summer)!

Tied With A Bow

If you guys haven’t heard of Chicwish yet, then I definitely suggest that you check them out.  Not only is their clothing beautiful and feminine, but their price points are fantastic.  In fact, ever since discovering them, they have quickly become a go-to for me when I’m looking for the perfect girly dress, skirt, or top (see how I styled other items from their site here, here, here, and here).

And while I have adored everything I have received from their site, the top in today’s post is definitely my favorite.  I mean really, who could resist a bubblegum pink top complete with a big ol’ bow? **swoon**

Pastels

As soon as the temps begin to warm up, and the clocks spring forward, I always start thinking about what I want to wear for Easter.  And today’s outfit would be a great option for an Easter dinner or brunch, or even a more casual church service. Because if anything says Spring in my book, it’s a pretty pale shade of pastel pink, and a light wash denim jacket.DSC_5031 DSC_4946 DSC_4974 DSC_4957 DSC_4964 DSC_4969 DSC_4945 DSC_5014 DSC_4959 DSC_4996 DSC_5021Jacket: JCrew (on sale!)
