I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, shift coats are awesome. And this gorgeous black and white number is at the top of my list of all-time favorite things in my closet. Not only is it under $40, but the quality is fantastic and the fabric and print is so pretty, people literally stop me on the street to ask me where they can buy it. When I posted this gray jacket on Instagram last week, I had a lot of you ask me if I would include it in a blog post. And because I love it just as much as you guys seem to, I couldn’t help but oblige. Not only has this jacket become a staple in my wardrobe this winter, but it is under $40 (say what?)! Ok, so this dress MIGHT look a little familiar. I have it in white, and also in a gorgeous purple color. And since the Free People price tag is a little steep to own this piece in too many colors, I was thrilled to stumble on this dupe from SheIn for a fraction of the price. In my opinion, the quality is almost as nice, the fit is pretty much identical, and at under $30, this is a purchase that is pretty much guilt free. Plus, how gorgeous is this rust color? So perfect for Fall!

Tunic

Confession: I ordered this “top” thinking that it was a dress. But when it arrived, it was much too short, and the slit was way too high (yikes!) for me to wear it as a dress, let alone in public. Ha! But I loved the print and fabric so much (it is a nice, sturdy scuba material), that I stewed over how to wear it for a while, not wanting to return it. And I finally decided that it could indeed be worn be worn as a top. In the end, while I still wish it was a dress, I am loving how it looks with leggings, and can’t wait to wear it again when the temperature drops with a cute blazer or leather jacket.

Leather and Lace

I love this time of year when I can transition my summer dresses into the Fall season. And even more than that, I love that I don’t have to put my white items away after Labor Day! Because as perfect as this white lace dress was to wear during the summer months, I actually prefer it dressed up with Fall ready accessories. And if you didn’t buy this FANTASTIC faux leather jacket last year (it is my absolute FAVORITE), it’s not too late, because Nordstrom brought it back again this season. It really is just that good (and it’s under $100)!

Romper Style

So now that I’ve decided I can wear the off-the-shoulder trend (see this post where I talk about how I didn’t think it would work for my body type), I can’t seem to get enough of it. Ha! Isn’t that the way that it always goes. But I have to say that for me lately, it doesn’t get much better than an off-the-shoulder romper. My husband and I love to bike in the summer and often ride our tandem road bike to dinner or drinks and apps, so I am always looking for cute outfits that are appropriate for bike riding AND date night (which is much harder than you would think!). But I have found that rompers, above all else, always seem to fit the bill. Especially when they cost less than $20!!

I love a good striped dress. And with the slightly cooler weather here in the SLC that has been layering itself in with our typically hot temps, I have found that some evenings, it’s nice to have a light coat with me as an option. Plus these tassel shoes. I can’t even. I’m pretty sure they are my favorite purchase from the #NSale. They are less than $90 and also come in black and red. Fiesta!

I’ve been a little slow to hop on the off-shoulder-trend. It’s not that I don’t love it, because I do. My hesitation has been that I have broad shoulders and assumed it was a silhouette that would accentuate this and make me look wider on the top than I am. But once I started trying a few off-the-shoulder pieces on, I realized how wrong I was! And this dress is no exception. Not only is it fun and flirty, but it has beautiful laser cut trim, and makes me like I am going to a fun party or a fiesta! And even better than that? It’s under $20!!! Summer Boho

I posted a photo on my Insta a couple of weeks ago wearing the top in today’s post, and I had so many questions about it, that I wanted to put it up on the blog. It is another score from SheIn, and is a dupe for the Free People version-but this one won’t break the bank at under $20. The quality is also great-just like the other pieces I have tried from SheIn. It’s little short on me to be worn as a dress (keep in mind I am only 5’3″), but you could easily wear something underneath to give it a little length. I styled mine with denim shorts and tied it in the back so that I could do a messy front tuck. I also love it paired it with booties to give it a perfect summer boho feel.
