I used to think the combo of shorts and heels together was kind of silly. But I have to admit, I am a total convert and wearing heels and shorts together is a summer staple for me. When the weather heats up, I am all about fashion short cuts, and adding heels to any outfit (specifically shorts), is a perfect and easy way to glam up a super casual look…

Neon Mono

I love a good monochromatic combination. And while my instinct is usually to use neutrals for monochromatic looks, this necklace/sweater combo has convinced me that it works really well with with color (especially neon!) too!!

In honor of Halloween, today’s outfit post is brought to you by the colors orange and black. And while it might seem like a taboo combo, or at the very least a little tough to wrangle, I promise you can wear black and orange together without looking like you are dressing up for Halloween-or in support of your favorite team. The best bet? Stay away from a true orange. Instead, opt for shades of mandarin (like my outfit below), corals, or neon. All look fantastic with black and can be worn together anytime of the year…

I will always have a love affair with my home state of Montana. There is just something so special about it that I can’t explain. It was the most incredible place to grow up and someday I hope I can raise my children there, or that it will, at the very least, be an important part of their lives too. And because I was lucky enough to marry a man who loves Montana as much as I do, every summer, J and I make a trip back to my hometown to soak in the beauty, the serenity, and all of the amazing-ness that is Montana. And this year’s vacation, as usual, was the high light of my summer. So when I saw these cute Montana Shirt Co. Tee’s everywhere on Facebook and realized their shop was located in my hometown, I knew I needed to get one so I could express my love for my home state with pride anytime, anywhere…

Where The Green Grass Grows

Not only did J and I purchase a house two years ago that needed a complete gut job and remodel on the inside, but it also needed a total overhaul of the outside as well. And after countless projects and a lot of hard work (we have done the majority of it ourselves), we are literally one project away from completion-both inside and out. And since one of my favorite things about warmer weather is fresh-cut grass (both the smell and the color), I can’t tell you how excited I am to spend countless evenings on the back deck enjoying ours this summer. And I am guessing this also might just be the explanation as to why I am so enamored with my grass-green tote right now…

I am so happy that maxi dresses are back on the docket for spring this year. And perhaps what makes me even happier, is the new trend of tying the bottom of your maxi in a knot. It is the perfect (and oh-so-simple) way to change-up an old favorite, making it feel fresh and new for the season!
