Floral Detail

This summer, one of my very favorite trends is white dresses.  And I especially love the dress in today’s post, because not only is it great quality for less than $35, but the pretty floral detail makes it extra-special. Plus, it’s easy to dress up with a swipe of red lipstick and some fun lace up heels, or simple to dress down with a nude lipgloss and gladiator flats.

Tassel Town

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve got a serious thing for tassels this summer.  I mean really, could they be more FUN? Plus, how cute is this dress? The quality is fantastic (for under $20!!), and the back just might be even cuter than the front.

Repeat

I originally purchased this Free People dress last summer in pink and wore it for my birthday celebration in Sonoma.  And I loved it so much and got so much wear out of it, that when they brought it back this season, I bought it in this pretty minty/sage color.  And this summer, it is once again one of my favorite things in my closet. It’s also on sale right now, and comes in several other colors.  So if you have been thinking about getting this dress, I would highly recommend it! You’ll get so much wear out of it, I promise it will be worth every penny! PLUS it has pockets this year too!

Although be warned.  It seems to be running a little shorter this year than last year, so I would recommend sizing up for length.

Tunic

I love a good tunic paired back to skinny jeans and a staple pair of pumps.  It’s definitely a go-to look for me.  And when I’m on the hunt for a new tunic, Free People is always a brand that I look to first.  They have some of the best tops around, in my opinion.  Particularly if you are looking for something flowy and comfortable for summer.

Favorites

Not all outfits are created equal.  There are always some that I love more than others, and this is definitely one of those.  Perhaps it’s because this dress reminds me of something that I wore when I auditioned for collegiate music programs back in the day, or perhaps it’s because it incorporates so many of my favorite things (surplus vest, yellow pumps, Panama hat, dress with pockets, etc.) into one look.  Whatever the reason, this is just one of those outfits that really feels like “me”, and one I can’t wait to wear again!

HAPPY, HAPPY FRIDAY friends!  I am FINALLY starting to feel better, so hoping to be able to enjoy the weekend and not spend it in bed like I did last weekend.  Hope y’all have something fun planned!

Statement Piece

You guys.  I have wanted this coat for SO long.  I have admired it, put it in my shopping cart about a million times, and finally took the plunge.  And while the weather has been nice here in the SLC for the past couple of weeks, there is still plenty of chilly weather ahead of us (it snowed on Sunday!).  And not only is this coat the perfect layering piece for all of that in-between weather, but it’s also a perfect statement piece for any wardrobe.  So if you’re like me and have been eyeing this stunner for a while, I would totally recommend it (how perfect is it for Easter Sunday?).  Plus it’s on sale right now too!

Flower Power

I love a bold floral print.  Especially when mixed with a good stripe.  It has been one of my favorite ways to print mix for years, and I don’t see myself tiring of this combo anytime soon.  So if you are still feeling on the fence, or unsure about how to print mix, pairing a bright floral back to a stripe is a really easy place to start.

Hope you all had a great weekend!  I was sick in bed, so my weekend was pretty uneventful, to say the least.  I can’t remember the last time I was down for the count like that.  No fun at all.  Hoping I’ll feel back to normal this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Abby

P.S. And please excuse my crazy hair in these photos! It was super windy when we were shooting!

French Kande

I am a sentimental gal and love special pieces of jewelry that carry some sort of meaning.  So when I discovered a company called French Kande, whose jewelry is both beautiful and meaningful, I knew that I wanted to share their unique pieces with all of you.

To give you a little background, French Kande jewelry is inspired by authentic French Medallions from the 1960’s that the owner of the company has collected from flea markets in Paris over the last 7 years.  Each one has a different story and is handcast from the original medallion and plated in either brass or sterling silver in the French Kande studio in L.A..

The Medallion I am wearing in today’s post is a gorgeous compass medallion that was used a as promotional piece for a fine food retailer in France in the 1960’s called Sopad.  They carried everything from fine wines to chocolates (perfect for me!).

So if you are looking to own a little piece of history, or add something incredibly unique and special (not to mention stunningly beautiful!) to your jewelry collection, then I would recommend checking out French Kande!  And right now, just for All Dolled Up readers, they are offering a FREE pair of stud earring (cast from antique French buttons) with any $150 purchase.  Just enter ALL DOLLED UP in the comments at checkout!

Current Beauty Faves

Happy hump day, lovelies!  I wanted to change things up a bit today and do something that I haven’t done in a while-share my current beauty faves!  Typically I’m pretty loyal to my tried-and-true products, but over the last couple of months, I’ve stumbled on a few new things that I’ve added to my routine.  So I wanted to take a minute and share both the old and the new with all of you.  Details, and why  I love these products can be found below!

Favorite ProductsClockwise from top:

  1.  Moroccan Oil: I am obsessed with this stuff.  I color my hair and have extensions and it does wonders for both.  Since I started using this regularly about a year and a half ago, I have seen a huge change in my hair.  Plus, if you live in a dry climate like I do, it will help with static and dryness during the harsh winter months!
  2. Karen Walker Sunglasses c/o Ditto: I am obsessed with sunglasses, so I have absolutely fallen in love with a company called Ditto.  They let you rent any designer sunglasses of your choice for just $24/month.  There is no contract and you can change them out as often as you want (with free shipping!).  Plus, if you use code: ALLDOLLEDUPBLOG at checkout, you can try one month for free!
  3. Urban Decay Naked Smokey Eye Palette: I’ve been super loyal to the original Naked palette for years, but I finally bit the bullet and picked this smokey one up.  And I am SO glad that I did!  It has great colors in it that I don’t already have, and it’s helped me to be more bold when experimenting with date night looks.  But it’s not just for dressing up either!  There are amazing neutrals for daytime as well.  It really is just a great all around palette and definitely worth every penny!
  4. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Foundation: this is a new product for me.  I have been wearing Estee Lauder Double Wear Light pretty religiously for over a year. I love the matte finish, that it stays in place all day, and I never get oily.  BUT, this winter has been so dry, it started to make my skin look dry and cakey.  On the recommendation of another blogger (Mckenna Bleu-check out her blog here), I tried this one.  And you know what?  I LOVE it! It stays in place all day, I never get oily, and it doesn’t leave my skin looking dry like the Estee Lauder.  And even better? It doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my face.  This is probably my favorite out of all of the new products I’ve tried!  It’s also free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates! I use this powder to set it.
  5. Benefit High Beam Highlighter: I was having dinner with a good friend a few months ago and I couldn’t stop staring at her skin.  It looked so radiant!  And when I asked her what her secret was, Benefit High Beam was it.  So obviously, I immediately purchased some for myself.  And the verdict? I am obsessed with it!  It’s super easy to apply, gives the most beautifuly radiant finish, and looks great blended using this.
  6. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara:  I am a tried and true fan of Bare Minerals Lash Domination. But I’ve found that mixing Lash Domination with this mascara gives me both incredible length and volume.  Plus, if I finish it off with a little Younique 3D Mascara for special occasions, it looks like I’m wearing false eyelashes!  So good!
  7. Rodan + Fields Sunless Tanner: this stuff is the bomb.com.  Not only is it super easy to apply (you can even put it on your face!), but it gives you a gorgeous, gradual tan that you can build as much as you want to.  When I went to the Bahamas with friends a couple of weeks ago, the weather was too cold to get any sun.  But I used this stuff for a little color and everyone talked about what a nice, natural tan I had when I came back! ha!  Plus, it doesn’t get streaky or blotchy around the wrists, ankles, or knees when you apply it or when it wears off.  This is hands down the best sunless tanner I’ve ever tried.
  8. Butter London Lippy Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon: I am a gloss girl and most lipsticks can drive me nuts.  But not these!  The color is super vibrant, they wear really well, and are comfortable on the lips.  Plus, the lid has a built in sharpener making it the perfect all in one! Ladybird (a fiery red/orange), Primrose Hill Picnic (the perfect bright pink), and Trout Pout (a great bright coral) are my go-to colors.

Let me know if you guys have any questions!  Would love to hear if you use any of these products, or what your favorites are!  I am always on the lookout to try new things!

xoxo,

Abby
