Bell Sleeves and Pirate Shirts

If you follow me over on Insta (@alldolledupblog), you might know how much I LOVE the bell sleeve trend.  But I do have a confession.  Every time I put one on,  I can’t help but think of the Jerry Seinfeld episode with the pirate shirt.  I’m probably totally aging myself here, but you guys know what I’m talking about, right? So I have to ask, does this trend make anyone else think of the same thing??? And more importantly, is this a trend that you guys are into this Spring?  Leave a comment below-I’d love to know!

Since I haven’t blogged very much in such a long time, Chloe wanted to make sure she stopped by to say hello too.

Hope you guys are having a fab week!

Tied Up

I always love the look of tying a jacket or shirt around your waist, so I’m obviously a fan of the built-in version this season.  It’s a great twist on a typical summer dress and is a super easy style to dress up or dress down. Plus, this particular dress is on major sale right now and I can’t recommend it enough!

Designer Handbag Hack

Ok, confession time.  I LOVE handbags.  Like, seriously love them.  But what I don’t love, are the crazy high price points.  And while I can score pretty much anything for a good deal (it’s my hidden talent!), I’ve found that it’s nearly impossible to get an authentic designer bag at a discount.

So I couldn’t have been more thrilled to discover Trendlee.  Not only do they buy and sell gently used designer bags (and I’m talking all of the current coveted brands and styles), but they authenticate everything, so you never have to worry about whether or not you’re getting the real deal.  I mean seriously, how gorgeous is this pink Prada?  And I swear, if I didn’t know better, I would think that it’s brand new.  It is in absolutely flawless condition.  So be sure to swing by their site to check out their inventory (they add new bags all the time!).  AND be sure to enter code: ALLDOLLEDUP at checkout to save 5% off of your order!!!

Repeat

Happy LEAP DAY, my loves!  Contrary to how it might appear on the blog, I love to re-wear and re-style things in my wardrobe.  In fact, if you’ve been following me for any length of time, then you know I am a big fan of adding pieces to your closet that can be styled multiple ways.  And this dress is a great example.  Today I’m styling it with over-the-knee boots, and my favorite blush pink vest.  But you can see how I styled it last fall, with gray booties and a Panama hat.  Same dress, totally different looks. Now how fun is that?DSC_4591 DSC_4597 DSC_4633 DSC_4609 DSC_4624 DSC_4626DSC_4595 DSC_4654 DSC_4651 DSC_4666Dress: ASTR (sold out), same dress different print, also love this and have this on my wishlist | Vest: Topshop | Bracelet: JCrew | Sunnies: Karen Walker c/o Ditto | Bag: Tory Burch | Boots: Steve Madden (ah-mazing! BUT they run big, so size down!  I’m a size 8.5, but ended up buying the 7.5 in these.)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

And don’t forget, today is the LAST DAY to get any curling wand from NuMe for just $29!!  Use code: 29WANDS at checkout (that’s over $120 off the full retail price!)!  For reference, I use the Magic Wand in the 25mm.

Enjoy this bonus day today!!

Abby

French Kande

I am a sentimental gal and love special pieces of jewelry that carry some sort of meaning.  So when I discovered a company called French Kande, whose jewelry is both beautiful and meaningful, I knew that I wanted to share their unique pieces with all of you.

To give you a little background, French Kande jewelry is inspired by authentic French Medallions from the 1960’s that the owner of the company has collected from flea markets in Paris over the last 7 years.  Each one has a different story and is handcast from the original medallion and plated in either brass or sterling silver in the French Kande studio in L.A..

The Medallion I am wearing in today’s post is a gorgeous compass medallion that was used a as promotional piece for a fine food retailer in France in the 1960’s called Sopad.  They carried everything from fine wines to chocolates (perfect for me!).

So if you are looking to own a little piece of history, or add something incredibly unique and special (not to mention stunningly beautiful!) to your jewelry collection, then I would recommend checking out French Kande!  And right now, just for All Dolled Up readers, they are offering a FREE pair of stud earring (cast from antique French buttons) with any $150 purchase.  Just enter ALL DOLLED UP in the comments at checkout!

Cold Shoulder

It felt like spring here in the SLC this weekend, so I used it as an opportunity to take my pretty new sweater out for a spin.  And I have to say, it really is the perfect transitional piece.  Not only are the colors and the off-the-shoulder styling perfect for spring, but the fabric is super warm and cozy, which makes it appropriate to wear now.  This is definitely a piece that will be getting a lot of use in my wardrobe as we transition from winter to spring.

Flower Power

I am fairly short, at just 5’3″, but I have long legs and a short torso, so shopping in the petites department doesn’t typically work for me.  I normally just buy regular sizing, and if I ever run into a pant inseam that is a little too long, I just take them to my (amazing!) tailor here in the SLC.  So when I spotted this cute peplum jacket a couple of months ago at Macy’s, and the XS was too big for me, I was initially at a loss.  But when I noticed it also came in petite, I decided to give it shot.  And guess what?  It worked perfectly!  It was a great reminder for me that if I ever have trouble with regular sizing, that petites can be a great alternative.  So if you are on the short side like me, don’t forget about the petite department!

Happy hump day, sweet friends!  Hope you are all having a fabulous week!

Neon

I love a good pop of neon.  And these floral shoes?  I can’t stop wearing them.  They are so fun and perfect for Spring-they might just very well be my favorite thing on repeat in my closet as of late.  But then again, I seem to be loving anything in a floral this season!!!

Pink Punch

I am finding that my bright pink Kate Spade bag is the perfect complement to so many outfits. And since pink and navy is one of my absolute favorite color combos ever, it was obviously the perfect accessory choice to brighten up a little blue on blue.

I am finding myself becoming obsessed with hot pink lipstick as of late. And although I feel a little funny when I wear it (it is awfully bright!), I can’t seem to stop.  My current favorite?  MAC Candy Yum Yum.  So in this season where bright lips rule, make sure it’s a trend you experiment with at least once or twice!

In Spades

I have such a sweet husband. So sweet in fact, that he got me a gorgeous, bright pink Kate Spade bag for Christmas. I had been eyeing it for quite some time, but couldn’t decide if I should buy a shocking pink bag in the dead of winter. So I was absolutely thrilled that he made the decision for me. And I must say, I really love carrying such a vibrant bag this time of year.  It is the perfect punch of color on dreary days and will transition perfectly into spring and summer weather!

This denim vest was one of my favorite pieces over the summer.  And when I pulled it out to pack for our trip to Nicaragua, I thought I might try styling it back to a silk blouse to change things up a bit.  And I must say I love the element of casual cool that it brings to this outfit.  So much so, that I am looking forward to styling it other ways this winter.  I love versatility!
