I tend to gravitate towards dresses. But the Grandstand skirt from the Cabi Spring line just might be my favorite thing in my closet right now. I seriously love everything about it. The fabric, the stripes, the pockets, the tie waist. It’s really an all-around perfect piece in my book. Plus it goes with so many different things, I know it’s going to be a go-to in my wardrobe this season.

Is it just me, or does this feel like the longest week EVER? Hopefully your week is going by a lot faster than mine. I am so ready for the weekend already.

I’m pretty sure the best part about Fall fashion is layers. I love throwing on a cute sweater, my favorite surplus jacket, and a cozy scarf. And these booties? They are hands down my favorite, and they come in a bunch of colors. Definitely worth every penny.

I love plaid all year round, but every year when September hits, it’s game on. But you know what I’m the most excited to share with you guys today? These booties! They are absolute perfect dupes for my favorite Jeffrey Campbell version, but are only $40! I seriously couldn’t believe it when I saw them. And they’re great quality and super comfy too. A definite must-have for your Fall wardrobe this season. But they do run a little small, so I would recommend sizing up a 1/2 size.

You guys! I love this dress SO much. I was totally on the fence about it before I tried it on, but now that it’s arrived, I seriously can’t seem to stop thinking of different ways to style it. I love that you can dress it up or dress it down, and that it lends itself well back to a pop of color. The possibilities really are endless. First of all, I LOVE the splatter print of this dress. There is just something so nostalgic about it to me. I think it’s because it reminds me of a denim jacket I had when I was a kid with neon splatter paint all over it!

I am on the short side at 5’3″, so I tend to shy away from midi-style dresses and skirts. Because of my smaller stature, longer lengths typically tend to swallow me up and not be particularly flattering. But because it’s a style I love, I do keep trying it in different silhouettes and prints as the seasons change, hoping to find something that will work for me. And this spring, I FINALLY found a midi-dress that is not only comfy and has pockets, but the print and style actually work well for my shorter frame.

Not all outfits are created equal. There are always some that I love more than others, and this is definitely one of those. Perhaps it’s because this dress reminds me of something that I wore when I auditioned for collegiate music programs back in the day, or perhaps it’s because it incorporates so many of my favorite things (surplus vest, yellow pumps, Panama hat, dress with pockets, etc.) into one look. Whatever the reason, this is just one of those outfits that really feels like “me”, and one I can’t wait to wear again!

Creature Comforts

I was just telling a girlfriend of mine last night that when I started blogging, it made me realize what a creature of habit I am. I tend to gravitate towards the same types of items and the same kinds of outfits. So being a blogger has been a great way to force myself out of my comfort zone and try new things. And today’s look is a great example of that. A couple of years ago, I never would have tried an outfit like this. And while it still wouldn’t be my go-to (like yesterday’s outfit!), I love pushing myself to try new trends and new looks. Afterall, that’s what makes fashion fun and exciting, right?
