I’m officially on the bandwagon-the chevron bandwagon, that is. And while I have always loved the print for party decorations, home decor, rugs, throw pillows, napkins, and pretty much anything else I see on Pinterest, I have never been totally wild about the bold print on clothing. Until I saw this cute mini-chevron print blouse at American Eagle, that is. I love the small take on a bold favorite and that it’s the perfect complement to the black and white trend this spring…

There is almost nothing I love more than attending the first official BBQ of spring. But truth be told, I don’t find them to be the easiest of occasions to dress for. Probably because as much as I love high heels and jewelry, they unfortunately aren’t the best accessory choices for a back yard get together. But through a little trial and error, I think I have come up with a foolproof outfit combo that not only lets me be comfy and appropriate for such occasions, but even a little stylish too…

Today I want to share one of my favorite tricks with you. And that my friends, is wearing a dress as a skirt. It’s such a simple and fun way to double your wardrobe by creating multiple looks with one item-plus it’s also a great money saver. Not only are they are a great staple that goes with just about everything, but the pop of metallic takes them up a notch making them not just a great neutral, but fun too! It finally happened this weekend-the sun came out. We have had such a cold spring here in the SLC, it really feels like it has been forever since that’ s happened. Between all of the rain, and snow, and cold we have been having, I couldn’t have been happier that big, beautiful, ball of fire in the sky finally decided to shine down us. And even though it was a little chilly, it still seemed appropriate to wear a dress for the occasion…

There are two items that I am wearing in this outfit that are absolute staples in my wardrobe. And on top of that, they are two things that I think every gal should own. The first is a great jean jacket. Perfection to throw on in the spring time over dresses or sleeveless tops when the weather is still a touch chilly, and also ideal for cool summer nights. And then of course, my tried and true favorite cognac pumps. Even though they are heels, the neutral color makes them feel a touch more casual, the color goes with everything, and the heel height on this particular pair lets me walk around all day in long in them. So if you are looking to purchase a couple of staples this spring, these are both items that should definitely be considered!

Inspiration Station

Downtown Abby

Last week marked our big 2014 planning meetings. And while it was fun to discuss our fashion and growth strategies for the upcoming year, I always especially love the excuse to office out of our beautiful, brand new Macy’s in downtown SLC. And so of course, when Friday rolled around, my hubby and I took full advantage and met for drinks at one of our favorite local downtown spots. It was the perfect way to enjoy some gorgeous spring weather and kick off a nice, relaxing weekend after a week full of craziness.

We all know I am obsessed with pink shoes. And this bubblegum pink pair is my current favorite because they are amazingly comfortable. But can we talk about my little bow top for minute? It’s pretty safe to say that I am beyond obsessed with it. The teeny, tiny bows are so darn cute and on top of that, they are velveteen-totally reminds me of when I was a kid. Plus, it was under $15. Can’t beat that!!!

Arm Candy
