Sometimes there is no better color combo than classic black and white. Especially when paired back to a pop of leopard and a bold lip to add a little dimension. Plus, do you guys love beanies as much as I do? I’m pretty sure I would wear one every day if I could. Winter Pastels

I am loving the pastel trend this winter. To me, there is just something so soft and beautiful about wearing colors like lilac during the crisp, white, winter months. And not only are pastels an unexpected (and fun!) choice right now, but they are a nice transition from the bold holiday colors of red and green (not that you can’t still wear those colors now too!!)…

Can you believe the holiday season has come and gone and it’s January again already? To be honest, I’m kind of nursing the post holiday blues. And the fact that it’s Monday certainly doesn’t help matters, does it?

December Rain

We have had an unusually warm and dry winter here in the SLC thus far. So when the rain and sleet started coming down this past weekend, I was actually a little thrilled because I am hoping for a white Christmas (duh!), but also a little bummed because rain and blog photos usually don’t mix. But we managed to take cover and get these shots done. And guess what? I’m rocking green again (in a little different shade than Monday’s post) for the holiday season! I am all about army green surplus jackets and they always seem to reign supreme in my closet this time of year. But truth be told, this camel color jacket has been my absolute favorite this season! We have had such a mild fall here in the SLC, that I almost forgot how brutal it can be to have to take blog photos during the winter months. But boy, was I sure reminded in a hurry when we shot these photos on Saturday. I guess it’s time to break out the winter coats, and pile on the layers. And speaking of layers? Surplus vests over plaid and flannels is still a combo at the top of my list this season…

I love a great heart print sweater or sweatshirt-kind of takes me back to being a kid in the ’80’s! But a great print is always a super easy way to dress up an otherwise basic outfit. And who doesn’t love a great pop of cobalt blue? Blue is one of the colors this season and I am absolutely loving it!
