I love to layer, but I also love a good twofer. And this sweater from Shein couldn’t be more perfect. Not only is it just the right shade of heather gray, but the pretty lace detailing makes it an easy piece to dress up or dress down. And the length is great too. It’s not quite tunic length, but it’s definitely long enough to wear with your skinniest of jeans.

Casual Friday

I love a good striped tee. Particularly when they are super soft and a little longer in the back than in the front. And my white jeans? Still going strong this fall season. In fact, I love this look for Fall so much, that this type of uniform will definitely be on repeat. I will just have to change out my heels for booties when the temps start to drop!

On a serious note, I also wanted to just take a minute and acknowledge today, September 11th. I still remember so vividly where I was and exactly what I was doing on this day 14 years ago. I remember watching towers fall while my roommates and I cried and clung to each other in our tiny little dorm room. I remember frantically trying to call friends who lived in in NYC to make sure they were ok. I remember how drastically things changed in those moments and how in the blink of an eye, things would never be the same. But most importantly, I remember those who lost their lives, the heroes, the first responders, the children who have grown up without with fathers and mothers. Every soul lost that day was so precious and taken from us much too soon. So even though life marches on, today will be a day full of reflection for me, as I know it will be for many others across this great country and around the world.

Hold tight to your loved ones, and never, ever forget.

Sheinside

I’ve been eyeing the Sheinside website for quite a while now. So when they reached out and asked if I would be interested in trying out some of their clothes, I couldn’t help but oblige. And while there were SO many cute things to choose from on their site, I ultimately settled on a dress that is almost identical to my favorite Free People dress (which you can see here). At a mere price tag of $30 vs. the $148 original version, I wanted to compare the two and really get a feel for the quality of clothing on Sheinside. And you guys, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. While it is a little shorter than the my Free People dress, I overall like the fit better. The arms were also a little slimmer too, which I also prefer. And I have to say, I was also quite impressed with the quality-not only the was the fabric very nice, but the dress was also fully lined. After this experience, I will definitely be shopping with Sheinside again. In fact, you can see my current wish list at the bottom of the post!

We have been having the rainiest weather here in Utah, which has made it really difficult to take outfit photos. So my apologies for being a little quiet over here on the blog. J and I are going to be on vacation over Valentine’s day again this year, so my date outfit will most likely consist of some sort of bathing suit and cover up. BUT that doesn’t mean that I won’t be sharing some V-day outfit inspiration with all of you on the blog this week! And today’s outfit is all about pink! I always feel my best in a pretty silk top styled with skinny jeans, pumps, and a chic black jacket-so some sort of version of this outfit is always a no-brainer for me when it comes to date night. And adding a bright pop of pink makes this go-to combo perfect for a Valentine’s night out on the town, or a more low key date night in…

One of my favorite things about dressing for Fall is layering. I love putting multiple pieces together to achieve different looks and maximize the pieces in my wardrobe. And because I am such a fan of the layered look, I am definitely finding myself gravitating towards this season’s mixed media pieces that give you the layered look without having to actually layer. Not only do they help simplify getting dressed in the morning, but they are a great option to get the layered look without all the bulk!
