Jean Jacket

Whether you call it a denim jacket or a jean jacket, if you don’t own one, then you should! Denim jackets are a key item for Spring, and a great investment piece that will last you for seasons to come. And while they are a great layering piece while we wait for the temps to warm up, they are also really cute. In fact, my favorite way of styling them as of late is back to flirty dresses and skirts-allowing me to get into my summer wardrobe a little earlier than usual.  And if you are really feeling the denim jacket this season (like I am), then I would be sure to venture out and purchase one in both a dark wash (see yesterday’s post), and also in a light wash…

Hope you are all having a fantastic week!

Tulle Cool For School

Ahhh tulle, how I love you so.  So fun, so whimsical, and the perfect fabrication to make any girl feel like a princess.  And let me tell you ladies, tulle isn’t just for ballerinas anymore.  So if you are looking for something different (and super fun!) to add to your wardrobe this spring, then a tulle skirt is the ticket.  You can wear them back to anything from a t-shirt, to a blouse, to a button down, to a jean-jacket.  Rest assured, you will be pleasantly surprised at the plethora of things you will able to style your tulle skirt with.  But perhaps more importantly, how fabulous it will make you feel…

Easter Best

When I was a little girl, my mom always dressed me to the nines for Easter Sunday-pretty dress, white gloves, and of course an Easter bonnet.  And while I don’t bust out gloves or a new bonnet for Easter Sunday anymore, it is still ingrained in me to get dressed up for the occasion.  And what better outfit for Easter Sunday than a candy colored sweater and pretty floral skirt?

Red Pop

Listen up ladies, red isn’t just for the holiday season anymore!  Paired with the right color combinations (think neutrals!!), red is a color we should be wearing all. year. long.  And while I typically tend to shy away from reds during the warmer months (as I’m sure we all tend to do), paired back to nudes and light wash denim, red really is the perfect pop of color for Spring!

Down On the Farm

Our weather has been a little crazy the past few days (nice one minute, then raining, or snowing the next!), so between that, and our busy schedules, it’s been a little hard to coordinate for blog photos this week. So yesterday after work, J and I decided to meet at a beautiful historic farm pretty close to our house.  And even though it was freezing cold while we were shooting, I loved the location and can’t wait to shoot more photos there-even if we did get chased down by some whopping big snow geese!

And do you know what else I am loving? The simplicity of today’s outfit.  Black and white is all the rage this season, and I love it paired back to simple chambray, nude pumps, and a bold lip.  Another one of those looks that is so easy to put together, but makes you looked you really put some effort in!

Mixology

It’s no secret that I love camo.  And leopard.  And stripes.  And distressed denim.  Oh, and of course yellow.  So why not mix them all together?  Obviously!!  Mixing all of your favorite things into one outfit isn’t just for little kids anymore-it’s called fashion!!!

Mustard

In my book, navy and mustard is a pretty tried and true color combination-no matter the season, no matter the trend.  And I am loving the playful look of pairing a more formal top and jacket with ripped up, light wash jeans, and nude pumps.  It’s unexpected, yet somehow still classic…

My family was reminded this weekend of just how precious life is.  Everything can change in an instant, so be sure to tell the ones you love that you love them, and cherish every moment you have with your family and friends.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Whistle Blower

Even though my husband always tells me that I look like a referee every time I wear anything black and white striped, I refuse to be deterred.  And when I spotted this skirt at Forever21, I knew it was right up my alley (hello, stripes!).  Maxi skirts are really the perfect transitional piece of the moment that you can wear now, and later.  And I am always a fan of adding pieces to your wardrobe that can serve a variety of purposes.  An added bonus??  While I am not tall by any means (5’4″ if I’m stretching on my tiptoes), the long flowing vertical stripes of this skirt give off the illusion that I am actually taller than I am.  Hallelujah! So I’ve got to be honest, I’m a little sad to be back to the grind today.  J and I had the most fabulous time in Nica and it’s hard to believe it’s over already.  But the good news is, we have family in town visiting and spent the weekend catching up on life and sneaking in some time on the slopes.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Appreciate each and everyone of you so much!

Polka Dots

There was a period in time when I went a little overkill on the whole polka dot thing, so I made a conscious effort to cut back.  And in doing so, it’s been quite a while since I posted a polka dot look on the blog.  So after a nice little hiatus, I finally feel like now is the appropriate time to bring polka dots back to All Dolled Up!  Not to mention that it has been unseasonably warm here in Utah this week, and this sweater is the perfect transitional piece that feels fitting for a winter that is beginning to feel an awful lot like spring…

I am on the road again for work this week.  And between vacation and work trips, will be on the road every week for the next 5 weeks!  I guess I better get really comfortable living out a suitcase until March! Sheesh!!!

Happy hump day!

In-vest-ed

There was a period in time that I wore this denim vest so much that I had to make a conscious effort not to wear it so often. And I did such a good job of avoiding it that it ended up buried in the back of my closet and forgotten about for a period of time. And so today, I couldn’t be happier to welcome it back to the rotation!  To me, there is just something about a vest (whether it be denim, down, leather, fur, etc.), that just adds that extra pop to any outfit.   It’s just tough to beat those pieces in your wardrobe that make you look like you put in a little extra effort when you really actually didn’t…

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.  I was lucky enough that one of my very best friends came to the SLC to visit me.  And let me tell you, we had the most amazing time.  From shopping, to manicures, to eyelash extensions,  to fun dinners out on the town, and even a little Sundance Film Festival action, it will be a weekend that I will always fondly remember.  Sometimes there just isn’t anything better than girl time.

And if you don’t already, be sure to follow along Instagram to catch all of my fashion (and real life) adventures!

Happy Monday!
