Strappy

Do you guys watch Project Runway?  It is one of my FAVORITE shows.  And in this past episode, Edmond (one of my faves!) made a gorgeous pant suit complete with a cloud inspired vest.  It was one of my favorite looks of the week.  And the gorgeous, strappy top that he made, reminded me of one I have in my closet that I’ve never posted to the blog.  And so today, I thought it would be fitting to share a classic black and white look complete with a bright a lip.  A perfect Fall date night look inspired by one of my favorite shows!

Boots With The Fringe

I mentioned last week that I can’t stop wearing dresses and booties together.  And it’s true!  I just can’t stop.  Especially when it comes to long sleeve dresses and just about anything with fringe on it.  But I know the whole fringe thing is probably a love/hate for most people this season.  So I’ve got to ask, what are y’all thinking about fringe for fall?  Yay or nay?  Love it or leave it?DSC_2268DSC_2273DSC_2295DSC_2272DSC_2271 DSC_2328 DSC_2313 DSC_2294 DSC_2332

Dress: ASTR via Nordstrom | Hat: Nordstrom | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunnies: Karen Walker (use code ALLDOLLEDUP to try them for free for one month!) | Booties: Carlos Santana (under $80 and super comfy!)

And DON’T FORGET!  I noted it above, but you can try my favorite Karen Walker sunglasses (or any other pair of designer sunglasses for that matter!) FREE for one month.  Then you can keep them for $19 a month after that for as many (or as few) months as you like.  You can even change them out for another pair!  How cool is that?  Just go to ditto.com and enter code: ALLDOLLEDUP at checkout! Enjoy!

Romper Style

So now that I’ve decided I can wear the off-the-shoulder trend (see this post where I talk about how I didn’t think it would work for my body type), I can’t seem to get enough of it.  Ha!  Isn’t that the way that it always goes.  But I have to say that for me lately, it doesn’t get much better than an off-the-shoulder romper.  My husband and I love to bike in the summer and often ride our tandem road bike to dinner or drinks and apps, so I am always looking for cute outfits that are appropriate for bike riding AND date night (which is much harder than you would think!).  But I have found that rompers, above all else, always seem to fit the bill.  Especially when they cost less than $20!!

Happy, happy Friday sweet friends!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  And don’t forget, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends Sunday.  So don’t miss out on your chance to save a ton on a lot of amazing outfits.  You can see all of my top picks here and here.  AND most are under $100.  Can’t beat that!

Fiesta!

I’ve been a little slow to hop on the off-shoulder-trend.  It’s not that I don’t love it, because I do.  My hesitation has been that I have broad shoulders and assumed it was a silhouette that would accentuate this and make me look wider on the top than I am.  But once I started trying a few off-the-shoulder pieces on, I realized how wrong I was!  And this dress is no exception.  Not only is it fun and flirty, but it has beautiful laser cut trim, and makes me like I am going to a fun party or a fiesta! And even better than that? It’s under $20!!!  So I want to know, how are you guys feeling about the off-the-shoulder trend?

Neon

I love a good pop of neon.  And this cute top from last summer is still one of my favorite things in my closet.  It’s just one of those items that looks great with just about everything-denim, shorts, skirts-you name it!  You can also see how I styled it last summer, here!

Black and White

I have to wear all black when I do store visits for work, so I typically tend to shy away from wearing a lot of black in my personal life.  But when I saw this cute dress at Express-I just couldn’t resist.  I was initially drawn to it because of the cute one shoulder silhouette, but the black and white tribal print feels so fresh for the season.  Plus, the fun ruffle details makes it totally different from anything else I have in my wardrobe.  And I have to say, I am really looking forward to dressing this one up AND down for a more casual looks this summer!

Sheinside

I’ve been eyeing the Sheinside website for quite a while now.  So when they reached out and asked if I would be interested in trying out some of their clothes, I couldn’t help but oblige.  And while there were SO many cute things to choose from on their site, I ultimately settled on a dress that is almost identical to my favorite Free People dress (which you can see here).  At a mere price tag of $30 vs. the $148 original version, I wanted to compare the two and really get a feel for the quality of clothing on Sheinside.  And you guys, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. While it is a little shorter than the my Free People dress, I overall like the fit better.  The arms were also a little slimmer too, which I also prefer.  And I have to say, I was also quite impressed with the quality-not only the was the fabric very nice, but the dress was also fully lined.  After this experience, I will definitely be shopping with Sheinside again.  In fact, you can see my current wish list at the bottom of the post!

Tailor Made

As I’ve gotten older, I have learned the importance of a good tailor.  And that just because something doesn’t fit you off the rack, doesn’t mean that it can’t still work for you.  And the dress in today’s post is the perfect example.  My mom and I stumbled on this gem at Anthropologie when my parents were in town a couple of weekends ago.  It was originally $228 and we found it on the sale rack marked down to $48 (um, WOW!).  It was the gorgeous fabric that initially drew me to it, but the original length was tea length and it just swallowed me up and was really unflattering.  But neither of us could get over the fabric (you should see it in person!) so we hatched a plan to have it shortened and I took it to my tailor (who also couldn’t get over the fabric), and he shortened it for me for a mere $20.  And I have to say, I think it is one of my very favorite dresses in my closet right now.  I guess it goes to show that it can be worth it to think outside of the box a little bit.  So if you don’t have a tailor, I would definitely suggest finding a good one in your neighborhood-you just never know when they might come in handy!

Shifty

I am obsessed with long-sleeved shift dresses.  But you know what?  Cute ones are incredibly hard to find.  So when I decided I wanted one for our trip to Sonoma a couple of weeks ago, I knew I could count on my go-to LuLu’s to have some cute options.  And I have to say, as usual, they did not disappoint.  So if you have yet to check out LuLu’s, then I highly recommend that you do! They have a plethora of styles at really reasonable prices, quick shipping, and awesome customer service.  Plus, they are constantly adding new arrivals to their site, so there are always lots of fun things peruse!

Boho

Well hi there, friends!  I guess I took a little hiatus from the blog!  I have been so busy with traveling for work, celebrating my birthday in wine country, and blogging over at SLMag, that I’ve fallen a little behind!  But I’m back and hope you are all having a fantastic week!

Today I want to share with you the dress that I wore on my birthday to ride bikes with my sweet hubby through Sonoma for a little wine tasting and fun (if you follow me on Insta @alldolledupblog, then you already got a chance to see it!).  I am very short (5’3″), so don’t typically tend to go for the flowy, boho look since a lot of the tops and dresses tend to swallow me up and not look so flattering.  But I have been seeing this dress everywhere lately, and really wanted to try it on.  And surprisingly, I loved it.  In fact, it turned out to be the perfect thing to wear for riding a bike, while still looking somewhat put together at the vineyards!

IMG_2768 IMG_2790 IMG_2774 IMG_2789 IMG_2812 IMG_2802 IMG_2809

Dress: Free People (on sale!) | Necklace: Jeweliq (sold out) LOVE this one | Ring: Kendra Scott | Cuff: Macy’s | Sunnies: Karen Walker | Bag: Marc Jacobs (my color is sold out, but I am loving this one and it’s on sale for under $200!) | Wedges: Jessica Simpson (on sale and super comfy!)

Also, you will have to forgive the quality of these photos.  The fog and wind both rolled in so fast, that this was all we were able to snap before the lighting and weather made it too impossible to shoot.  I have some more fun photos that I will be sharing later this week with a complete round up of our amazing trip!  So stay tuned!!!!

Hope you are all having a great week!
