Crop It Like It’s Hot

I loved the crop shirt trend the last go around and fondly remember wearing cute crops with overalls and Birks. Heck, I was even wearing crop tops with low-rise jeans performing at the bars in Nashville back in the day! I was also in my late teens/early twenties at the time-so bearing a little midriff seemed perfectly acceptable.  But now that the crop top trend is back, and finding me in my early 30’s, I’ve been a little unsure as to how to tackle this trend.  Because at my age, I’m certainly not going to be running around with my navel hanging out!  And while I’ve done some cute layering looks with crops, that doesn’t exactly work during the warmer summer months.  So for those of you finding yourselves in the same predicament as me, I have found that a super cute and age appropriate way to wear a crop top, is with a high-wasited skirt.  It still gives you the look and feel of the crop, but without baring all of the skin!  And trust me, your belly button will thank you!

Romper Time

I love rompers.  Like, seriously love them.  They are so fun, flirty, and such a nice change up from dresses and shorts in the summer.  And not only that, but I love the variety that this sweet, ditsy print adds to my wardrobe.  You know what they say, variety is the spice of life, right?  And in my opinion, it’s also the key to a well-rounded wardrobe!  Plus there is just something about rompers that makes me feel like I should be heading to an amazing music festival, or some super cool boho-chic event.

Put A Bow On It

When I think about my own personal style, girly and sweet are definitely not the first words that come to mind.  And while I think hearts and bows and frills are all adorable, I don’t normally gravitate towards those types of ensembles.  BUT, every once in a while, I do think it’s fun to put on a girly dress and pay homage to a more feminine style.  And as an added bonus, while most of us are still experiencing in between temps, I absolutely love the option of wearing a button down shirt underneath a dress to change things up from my typical go-to cardi or jean jacket…

Black and Blue

As I’ve said quite a few times this Spring, I am loving the color blue-especially anything in cobalt.  It is such a rich, gorgeous color and looks great back to a multitude of other colors.  But despite it’s versatility, sometimes pairing it back to plain old black is the perfect combination…

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I had a fantastic birthday celebration in Vegas, but I must admit, I’m a little sad it’s all over.  Sometimes the things we look forward to the most always seem to pass us by the most quickly, don’t they? And a very special thank you to all of you for the sweet birthday wishes over the weekend.  I appreciate you all SO much and you helped to make my day extra special!

Thanks for stopping by!

Light and Airy

I love a good structured peplum top. I am also particularly being drawn towards all things white this season.  So this top has (obviously) been on frequent rotation in my closet as of late.  I am also finding myself gravitating towards anything nude as far as footwear is concerned.  And how could I forget light wash denim for both jackets and jeans?  I guess it’s safe to say this warmer weather has me wanting to lighten things up a bit…

L’eggs Sweepstakes!

Do you guys remember L’eggs when they were sold in the iconic egg packaging?  I know I sure do. And because I always thought of them as an ’80’s staple, I was surprised (and excited!) when they contacted me and asked me to be a part of their 40th birthday celebration and re-launch of their limited edition egg packaging.  Now to be totally honest, I have always been on the fence when it comes to pantyhose and tights, and always have been.  But with the popularity of tights and pantyhose over the last year, I figured why not give them a try.  And I have to say-I am SO happy that I did.  Not only are L’eggs totally affordable (and easy to find-check your local drug store!), but they are super comfy with just the right amount of control around the tummy and thighs.  And with all of these in-between temperatures as we transition into warmer weather, they are the perfect accessory if you are anxious to start wearing all of your spring/summer dresses and skirts (like I am!).

In today’s post, I am wearing the sun-tan shade which gave my winter white legs just the right hint of color and smoothed out all of the unevenness caused by those long winter months of nothing but pants.  In fact, when we shot these photos, my hubby didn’t even realize that I was wearing pantyhose.  BUT he did tell me that my legs looked great!  So be sure to check out L’eggs at your local drug store and go here for your chance to win $1,000 cash and a fabulous trip to Las Vegas! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Ours was full of rain and cold temperatures which made for lots of naps and catching up around the house.

Here’s to warmer temperatures this week!

Jean Jacket

Whether you call it a denim jacket or a jean jacket, if you don’t own one, then you should! Denim jackets are a key item for Spring, and a great investment piece that will last you for seasons to come. And while they are a great layering piece while we wait for the temps to warm up, they are also really cute. In fact, my favorite way of styling them as of late is back to flirty dresses and skirts-allowing me to get into my summer wardrobe a little earlier than usual.  And if you are really feeling the denim jacket this season (like I am), then I would be sure to venture out and purchase one in both a dark wash (see yesterday’s post), and also in a light wash…

Candy Crush

Well no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t quite make it a week without these pumps making an appearance on the blog.  I just love the fun pop of color they bring to any outfit.  So if you don’t have a fun, candy colored pump in your wardrobe, then its high time to add a pair!  I promise,  you will get more wear out of them than you could even anticipate!

Easter Best

When I was a little girl, my mom always dressed me to the nines for Easter Sunday-pretty dress, white gloves, and of course an Easter bonnet.  And while I don’t bust out gloves or a new bonnet for Easter Sunday anymore, it is still ingrained in me to get dressed up for the occasion.  And what better outfit for Easter Sunday than a candy colored sweater and pretty floral skirt?

Happy (almost) weekend!

Sorry I’m Not Sorry

I find it to be kind of amusing when people use the term “Sorry I’m not sorry”.  And I have to say, that is exactly how I feel every time I slip on these neon heels.  I mean, let’s be honest, I am pretty much obsessed with them.  They are so super comfy, go with just about everything, and bring such a fun element to any outfit. And even though they are from last summer, I still can’t seem to get enough.  So I am just going to have to put it out there-I’m sorry I’m not sorry that you are (once again this season) going to be seeing a lot of these pumps on the blog…
