White After Labor Day

I’m baaaaaack! Been a bit of a rough week for me over here. I got some bad spider bites while we were on a float trip this past weekend and have been having an allergic reaction to them in the form of hives all over my arms and legs! Gross! Didn’t figure you all would want to see that on the blog, so I’ve just been taking it easy this week.

Fortunately, I started to feel a little better last night which is why I’m finally back today. And good thing too, because I want to talk about how much I love white pants!! I was so hesitant to buy them at first because I knew I would get them dirty (which I pretty much do every time I wear them), but it has been so worth it. Not only do they look great with almost every cute summer top in my closet (especially bright colors!), but I can’t wait to transition these bad boys into Fall with booties and oversized sweaters! Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day???

Romper Style

So now that I’ve decided I can wear the off-the-shoulder trend (see this post where I talk about how I didn’t think it would work for my body type), I can’t seem to get enough of it. Ha! Isn’t that the way that it always goes. But I have to say that for me lately, it doesn’t get much better than an off-the-shoulder romper. My husband and I love to bike in the summer and often ride our tandem road bike to dinner or drinks and apps, so I am always looking for cute outfits that are appropriate for bike riding AND date night (which is much harder than you would think!). But I have found that rompers, above all else, always seem to fit the bill. Especially when they cost less than $20!!

And because it has been a little cooler in the SLC the past few days, they have been a perfect choice to wear back to my favorite button-down shirts and wedges. In fact, it’s felt like a bit of a summer uniform for me. I mean really, what’s easier to put together than denim and gingham?

Summer Chambray

We have had a little break from the heat wave here in the SLC the past few days, which prompted me to break out my favorite lightweight summer chambray shirt. I am a fan of chambray no matter the season, but one of my favorite ways to wear it is back to a full skirt. And it was the perfect choice for the weather this week. Especially because it gave me an excuse to wear my favorite wedges. I seriously can’t get enough of these shoes! I’ve always wanted a cute t-shirt dress, but could never find one that was flattering and didn’t, ah-hem, put a little too much on display. So I was thrilled when I stumbled on this one at the Gap recently. Not only is it super comfy, but it hits in all the right places and is thick enough that it doesn’t show every detail. Plus, it comes in a ton of cute colors !

Summer Boho

I posted a photo on my Insta a couple of weeks ago wearing the top in today’s post, and I had so many questions about it, that I wanted to put it up on the blog. It is another score from SheIn, and is a dupe for the Free People version-but this one won’t break the bank at under $20. The quality is also great-just like the other pieces I have tried from SheIn. It’s little short on me to be worn as a dress (keep in mind I am only 5’3″), but you could easily wear something underneath to give it a little length. I styled mine with denim shorts and tied it in the back so that I could do a messy front tuck. I also love it paired it with booties to give it a perfect summer boho feel.
