Does anyone else feel like Labor Day is the most bittersweet weekend of the year? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE fall (especially fall clothes), but it makes me so sad to say goodbye to summer every year (probably because I know a long winter awaits us just on the other side). And while I am looking forward to a nice 3-day weekend up in Park City with family and friends, I have to say that this girl is pretty darn sad to see summer go. So in honor of my favorite season, I thought I might post a round-up of my favorite All Dolled Up looks of the summer….

Summer Nights

Last night J and I went with some of our best friends to see one of our favorite musicians at one of the most beautiful amphitheaters ever-Michael Franti and Spearhead at Red Butte Gardens. It was an absolutely perfect night and we had an amazing time. And even though it was a little hot, we still decided to ride our vintage cruisers to the show so we didn’t have to deal with parking-and it was well worth the sweat. A perfect summer night that only served to remind me why I never want to see summer go…

While this outfit is extremely casual, I have to say that I am loving all of the playful colors. Red and pink are a favorite color combo of mine and I am loving the pops of neon back to the mirrored aviators. Who says comfort can’t be fun?

Tour of Utah

The Tour of Utah was this weekend and J and I were lucky enough to score VIP tickets to the stage 4 circuit race in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday evening. And because we knew thousands of people would be heading downtown for the event, we decided to ride our cruisers to the Capital building-the location of the Start/Finish. And while I obviously wanted to look nice for the event, I also had to be practical when choosing an outfit that could not only stand up to the heat, but that would also be comfortable for a bike ride as well. And I have to say, one of my favorite dresses of the summer did just the trick…

I will always have a love affair with my home state of Montana. There is just something so special about it that I can’t explain. It was the most incredible place to grow up and someday I hope I can raise my children there, or that it will, at the very least, be an important part of their lives too. And because I was lucky enough to marry a man who loves Montana as much as I do, every summer, J and I make a trip back to my hometown to soak in the beauty, the serenity, and all of the amazing-ness that is Montana. And this year’s vacation, as usual, was the high light of my summer. So when I saw these cute Montana Shirt Co. So I guess it’s been a little while since I shared a favorite item with you all on a Friday. And today I wanted to talk about my summer obsession with gold cuffs!! I just can’t seem to get enough of them (if you hadn’t figured that out already!). They are a great statement and the perfect way to add a little interest to any outfit-whether it be dressed up or dressed down. Plus they are an easy alternate to an elaborate arm party-especially on a hot day when the last thing you feel like doing is piling on the jewelry…

Both of my cuffs featured in the above photos are older styles from H&M, but I am currently crushing on this style, this style, and this style.

Color tends to be a pretty consistent trend in my summer wardrobe. And this fun, striped skirt from JCrew is no exception. And while I initially gravitated towards styling it back to heels and vibrant oranges, I am also looking forward to trying it with shades purples, or a favorite chambray shirt and pair of flats.
