Happy Monday, friends! Hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was filled with home renovation projects, friends, and lots and lots of sunshine and biking. BUT despite the fantastic weather, there was definitely still a chill in the air. And this time of year, when temps are still in that in-between phase, I find that a denim jacket is the perfect weight to layer on over your outfit to keep you warm and stylish. And I am loving this pale blue, white washed version from Nordstrom. It’s a nice change-up from tried and true blue and gives me different options for styling than my go-to JCrew denim jacket. Plus, something about the pale color just feels extra fresh for Spring…

Print Mixing

I love that it’s perfectly acceptable to mix different prints together (thank you Jenna Lyons!). I mean really, a couple of years ago, I never would have thought to wear leopard and tribal prints together. In the same outfit. But for whatever reason, it works. And perhaps more importantly? It’s FUN. And in my book, fashion should always be fun, don’t you think?

Winter Pastels

I am loving the pastel trend this winter. To me, there is just something so soft and beautiful about wearing colors like lilac during the crisp, white, winter months. And not only are pastels an unexpected (and fun!) choice right now, but they are a nice transition from the bold holiday colors of red and green (not that you can’t still wear those colors now too!!)…

I love anything that sparkles. Especially if it adds an element of fun to an otherwise classic piece. So when I saw this jacket at Express while I was in SF last wee, I knew it was a perfect addition to my closet. I wear denim jackets all the time (especially this time of year), and I love that I now have a bit of a dressier option in my closet. I can tell this jacket is going to be on heavy repeat in my closet this year!

Sometimes there is nothing better than a LBD. Especially this time of year when paired back to a black leather jacket and a pop of leopard. There is just something so chic, yet so effortless about it. Talk about an easy way to look like you dressed up without even trying! American Eagle Feature

I was beyond thrilled when American Eagle contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me to be a part of their Bloggers Do It Better series (ok, I was more than beyond thrilled). I mean seriously, to have the opportunity to work with one of my absolute favorite retailers on a collaboration is literally a dream come true. Somebody pinch me please!! And so today, I am incredibly excited to share with you what we have been working on!

The challenge that was given to my by AE was to style their Contrast Strap Bootie (in leopard) three different ways. And while we revealing all three looks today (head on over to AE’s blog to check out my feature), I will release the specific details about each outfit one post at a time! I love a good geometric print, but it’s not very often that I’m drawn to one enough to actually purchase and wear one. I suppose it’s one of those things that just lies outside of my fashion comfort zone. And to be totally honest, even though I write a blog chronicling my daily outfits, believe it or not, it is still pretty easy to get stuck in a fashion rut. So I am constantly reminding myself to step out of that comfort zone and try something new. Even if it’s something as seemingly small as trying out a new pattern…

I am really into graphic tees right now. Like, really into them. I love the idea of throwing on a tee-shirt back to a ripped up pair of jeans and then adding fancy heels and accessories to dress up the look. I guess maybe it makes me a feel a little rock and roll. Plus, it’s a great way to be super comfy while looking put together at the same time.

So I have to say, as much as I love graphic tee’s, I do find it a little difficult to find a good one. It seems to me that more often than not, the sayings on them tend to be a little young, or too cliché for me to want to broadcast on my body. Summer Nights

Last night J and I went with some of our best friends to see one of our favorite musicians at one of the most beautiful amphitheaters ever-Michael Franti and Spearhead at Red Butte Gardens. It was an absolutely perfect night and we had an amazing time. And even though it was a little hot, we still decided to ride our vintage cruisers to the show so we didn’t have to deal with parking-and it was well worth the sweat. A perfect summer night that only served to remind me why I never want to see summer go…

While this outfit is extremely casual, I have to say that I am loving all of the playful colors. Red and pink are a favorite color combo of mine and I am loving the pops of neon back to the mirrored aviators. Who says comfort can’t be fun?
