Casual Friday

I am all about dressing casual and feeling comfortable.  So this Friday, I wanted to share a casual go-to look that is on frequent repeat in my closet right now, comprised of a few of my favorite things: a button down, leather jacket, favorite jeans, and a fun pair of pumps.  Kind of tough to beat, don’t you think?

Giveaway!

I am so excited to be teaming up with one of my very favorite Etsy shops today, Basil The Cat!  I first discovered this great shop when I was on the hunt for a bubble necklace a couple of years ago.  And I discovered that Rachel not only made them by hand with a beautiful vintage feel (see this post-her’s is the turquoise version), but she also created all sorts of gorgeous one-of-a-kind vintage pieces.  Swoon worthy, really.  And let me tell you, I have a been a huge fan of hers ever since.  So when she contacted me recently to not only give away one of the gorgeous Elephant lockets that I am wearing below, but also offer a 20% discount to All Dolled Up readers for the ENTIRE month of November, how could I say no?  And so today my friends, is your lucky day! See below for entry details!

Beanie Baby

I love a good hat.  In fact, on most winter weekends, you can almost always find me wearing one (most likely covering up helmet hair from a day on the slopes).  Not only are they an easy (and practical) accessory to throw on with just about any outfit, but they are perfect for this time of year when the temps start dropping (or when you just don’t feel like doing your hair)…

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  My hubby had a double header bike race this weekend, so ours revolved around biking.  But lucky for me, Cyclocross is a really fun event to watch, and my husband is having a great year-so it’s always exciting.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Now You See Me…

Confession: I LOVE camo. Always have, always will. In fact, my father-in-law even got me my very own snow camo gators for Christmas one year because I thought snow camo was especially pretty. So when camo is in, I am always especially quick to jump on the trend. And so of course, given it’s popularity this season, I knew that a camo vest would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe for the summer season…

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  We spent ours celebrating the marriage of two of our dear friends.  And let me tell you, it was a truly lovely wedding and a fantastic celebration-pretty sure I can’t think of a better way to have spent the weekend.

Making Me Blush

I love the color blush. It really is the perfect neutral. And while I usually find myself preferring to rough it up a bit by pairing it back to more military inspired ensembles, sometimes I just can’t help but want to feel ultra girly and style my blush back to something sweet-maybe like a little lace peplum…

Floral Frenzy

It turns out that florals aren’t just for old couches and drapes anymore. But rather, they are a spring fashion must. And while the boldness of an all-over floral pant or top might seem a little overwhelming, it is definitely a trend worth trying. My favorite way to tackle this trend? Colorblocked.

Another trend worth trying this spring?  Cap toe shoes.  A super fun and easy way to spice up an otherwise ordinary outfit.

Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

80’s Accent

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. I love neon. And despite being raised in the 80’s, I am still working on getting my neon fix. But instead of layering multiple neons together, I am loving it as an accent, especially when paired back to unexpected neutrals!

Another trend that I am loving right now is the embellished sweatshirt.  Really, how fun that we have the option to be totally and completely comfortable while still adding a touch of sparkle!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week.  Thanks for reading!

Emerald City

A while back, I wrote this post about emerald, Pantone’s color of the year. And given its current popularity, coupled with the opening of Oz The Great and Powerful tonight, what can I say? Emerald is on my mind…

Another trend I can’t seem get off my mind? Peplum!  So fun and flirty and so many ways to wear it.  Currently, I am loving it layered over button downs.

Happy weekend, dolls!!

Pink Punch

I am finding that my bright pink Kate Spade bag is the perfect complement to so many outfits. And since pink and navy is one of my absolute favorite color combos ever, it was obviously the perfect accessory choice to brighten up a little blue on blue.

I am finding myself becoming obsessed with hot pink lipstick as of late. And although I feel a little funny when I wear it (it is awfully bright!), I can’t seem to stop.  My current favorite?  MAC Candy Yum Yum.  So in this season where bright lips rule, make sure it’s a trend you experiment with at least once or twice!

Teen Spirit

Oh, the ’90’s. NOT my favorite era in fashion. Maybe it was because I was an angsty teen trying to navigate my way through junior high and high school, or maybe my sense of style was a little more girly than grunge (thank goodness for Clueless!!). But I must say that I am enjoying revisiting certain pieces made famous during that decade-specifically flannels. Not only are they comfy, but they are super cute and look fantastic back to fun jewelry, boyfriend jeans, and a great pair of pumps. A little grunge glam if you will. Which in my book, is hands down much better than just plain old grunge.
