Casual Friday

I love a good striped tee. Particularly when they are super soft and a little longer in the back than in the front. And my white jeans? Still going strong this fall season. In fact, I love this look for Fall so much, that this type of uniform will definitely be on repeat. I will just have to change out my heels for booties when the temps start to drop!

On a serious note, I also wanted to just take a minute and acknowledge today, September 11th. I still remember so vividly where I was and exactly what I was doing on this day 14 years ago. I remember watching towers fall while my roommates and I cried and clung to each other in our tiny little dorm room. I remember frantically trying to call friends who lived in in NYC to make sure they were ok. I remember how drastically things changed in those moments and how in the blink of an eye, things would never be the same. But most importantly, I remember those who lost their lives, the heroes, the first responders, the children who have grown up without with fathers and mothers. Every soul lost that day was so precious and taken from us much too soon. So even though life marches on, today will be a day full of reflection for me, as I know it will be for many others across this great country and around the world.

Hold tight to your loved ones, and never, ever forget.

T-Shirt Dress

I am a huge fan of t-shirt dresses. And I have been especially loving this one lately. First of all, it’s striped (duh!), second, the high low hem-line makes it really unique, and last but not least, it’s under $10! Say what?? Don’t you just love a good deal on a great closet staple? I know I certainly do. PLUS, this is another great example of a piece that is perfect for now and later!

Casual Friday

I hardly ever wear flats. Part of it is because I am short, so I feel pretty short (and stumpy!) when I’m not in heels. But the other reason is because I have super narrow feet (and big!) feet, and I just can’t ever seem to find any that fit me properly! But when I spotted these leopard sneakers on the clearance rack at Macy’s a few weeks ago during a work trip (my feet were aching from being in heels and on my feet all day!), I thought it might not hurt to give them a try. And, while I can’t say I’m fully convinced that I pull them off, I am so glad that I am least trying. They have actually been the perfect commuter shoe when I’m working in the city, and I have even found myself gravitating towards them to run errands, or to ride my cruiser to dinner. And as much as I love my pumps and heels, I guess it isn’t really feasible to wear them everywhere….

The Road Less Traveled

Fall in Utah is my favorite. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but it seems to last forever and the weather is unbelievably amazing. I seriously can’t imagine a better place to be for the months of September and October. And with the fall foliage at a frenzy right now, I am trying desperately to enjoy every second of it before the snow starts to fly-which means weekends spent at the farmer’s market, watching bike races, and checking out all of the beautiful fall colors. And I have to say that cozy sweaters and comfy booties have been my go-to weekend uniform as of late-particularly if they are cognac and gray…

I travel a lot both personally and professionally, so am always on the hunt for comfy layering pieces to keep me cozy to and fro. So when ToAdorn (one of my very favorite daily deal sites) gifted me this darling cardigan from Tara Lynn’s Boutique, I knew it was going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. And it most definitely is. It’s just one of those easy pieces that can be tossed on over just about anything, can be easily tucked into your purse or carry on for travel, and my very favorite part (besides the stripes, obviously)? I have had my eye on this leopard sleeved Townsen sweatshirt for SO LONG! But I just couldn’t justify paying full price for it (because I don’t pay full price for anything-seriously!). So when it went on sale for less than half price right after Christmas, I knew I had to pounce (no pun intended!). And I am certainly glad that I did. If you follow me on Instagram (AllDolledUpBlog), then you know I rocked a very similar outfit to this one a couple of weeks ago for a shopping date with one of my best friends at Nordstrom. I hope that you all had a most wonderful Super Bowl weekend! We had a great weekend skiing at the resorts and in the backcountry, celebrating the 4th birthday of one of our very favorite little guys, and of course cheering on the Seahawks and the Broncos in the Super Bowl! It’s not very often that all your homies from the west make it into the big dance. So even though we may have slightly sided with the Broncos (Peyton is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met), it was still pretty rad to see the west represent!
