American Eagle Part Two

First of all, I just want to thank you all for the outpouring of love and support yesterday!  I have been so excited to share this project with all of you and the response has far exceeded what I had hoped for.  So THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart.

Today, I wanted to share the details of my 2nd outfit with you.  Truth be told, I had done a shoot with another outfit but when it was time to submit the photos, I just didn’t feel right about it.  And I can’t tell you how glad I am that I trusted my gut and opted for one more photo-op with my favorite vest.  Because it was by far and away, everyone’s favorite look of the three…

American Eagle Feature

I was beyond thrilled when American Eagle contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me to be a part of their Bloggers Do It Better series (ok, I was more than beyond thrilled).  I mean seriously, to have the opportunity to work with one of my absolute favorite retailers on a collaboration is literally a dream come true.  Somebody pinch me please!! And so today, I am incredibly excited to share with you what we have been working on!

The challenge that was given to my by AE was to style their Contrast Strap Bootie (in leopard) three different ways.  And while we revealing all three looks today (head on over to AE’s blog to check out my feature), I will release the specific details about each outfit one post at a time!  And so, without further adieu, I leave you with my new favorite booties, styled not just one, but three different ways!

So not only did I have the opportunity to be a part of this fantastic collaboration with AE, but I also found my new favorite booties of the season in the process.  And let me tell you people, these booties are truly fantastic.  Not only are they super cute and comfy, but I have literally had people stopping me on the street to ask me where they are from.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for details on Outfit #2!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

I didn’t intend to use the below outfit for a post, but due to rainy weather, a late night at work, a bike race (the hubs), and other complications, well, here it is. But, with that said, I’ve got to say, I LOVE it. Funny how sometimes the best outfits are the ones that happen on accident, or when a wrench is thrown in your plans. I guess it keeps things interesting. And besides, it’s pretty hard to go wrong when wellies are involved, don’t you think?

I hope you are all having a great week and that you weather is a little warmer and drier than ours.  Fall has certainly descended upon the Wasatch front with a vengeance this week.  And while I love Fall, I’ve got to admit, I’m not quite ready for it to be so dreary just yet!  But on the bright side, I guess it’s time to break out the boots!

Back To Basics

Not only is Fall officially here, but it is also officially in the air. And the first thing I seem to find myself reaching for these days is my favorite chambray shirt. Paired with fun accessories, it’s a comfy, chic way to kick off the season and ease yourself out of those easy, breezy summer clothes…

About Face

I love, love, love the military trend. Most likely because I have an obsession with cute jackets. And what’s cuter than a bomber? Or a surplus jacket? They are the perfect topper to just about any outfit. And while I normally tend to gravitate towards shades of army green, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this navy number when I spotted it at Macy’s a couple of months back. And even though the temps are still pretty warm, I can already tell that this is going to be a fantastic staple in my fall wardrobe…

Fall Into Color

I’ve got a bad habit. When I buy something extra special, or that I really love, I often find I let it stay tucked neatly into my closet saving it for the “perfect” occasion. And sometimes, that perfect occasion is awfully slow in coming. So I am trying to be better about wearing those “special” pieces right off the bat. But I’ve got to admit-I’m a work in progress.

But lucky for me, when styled appropriately, color is perfectly acceptable during the fall and winter seasons. And that means there will hopefully still be lots of special occasions for me to wear my favorite (previously unworn) Kate Spade skirt. And while the temps are still pretty warm, I am loving it back to denim, for a look that’s both seasonally and weather appropriate!

So I have to ask.  Does anyone else out there have the same bad habit I do?  Do you wear your special items right away?  Or save them for later?

Thanks for stopping by.  You all brighten my day more than you know.

Graphic

I am really into graphic tees right now. Like, really into them. I love the idea of throwing on a tee-shirt back to a ripped up pair of jeans and then adding fancy heels and accessories to dress up the look. I guess maybe it makes me a feel a little rock and roll. Plus, it’s a great way to be super comfy while looking put together at the same time.

So I have to say, as much as I love graphic tee’s, I do find it a little difficult to find a good one.  It seems to me that more often than not, the sayings on them tend to be a little young, or too cliché for me to want to broadcast on my body.   So if you are on the hunt for one (and you should be!) the best luck I’ve had in finding cute, age appropriate graphic tee’s is at JCrew, JCrew Factory, American Eagle, and TJMaxx.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend.  Can you believe that it’s almost Labor Day?  I know that I sure can’t.

Strappy

One of my very favorite looks of the moment is barely there, feminine pumps back to destroyed boyfriend jeans. I swear, something about those sweet and sassy combos get me every time (especially when you throw polka dots into the mix)…

Pedal to the Metal

When J and I spent a few days in Red Lodge, MT on our way home from his grandmother’s funeral last week, one of our very favorite things about it was that we could ride our bikes from our hotel to wherever we needed or wanted to go-from daytime adventures to dinner and drinks out on the town. And fortunately for me, I had thought to pack my go-to chambray sleeveless shirt, and Marc Jacobs hobo (that also doubles as a cross body bag)-both of which made for perfect riding attire!

I can’t believe I am hitting the road again for work today.  Pretty sure I haven’t slept in my own bed for more than 4 nights in a row in the last month.  Or completely unpacked from any of my trips, if I’m really being honest.  🙂  Guess I know one thing I’ll be doing this weekend.

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Let Freedom Ring!

Just wanted to take minute and wish you all a very happy and safe 4th of July! I know I am personally looking forward to parades, the rodeo, a little time spent on the water, and lots of yummy food-all in celebration of this incredible country that I am lucky to call my home. God bless America!
