Another day, another vest. Or so seems to go my wardrobe rotation these days. But really, I just can’t help it. Vests are the perfect piece to throw on this time of year for a little extra layering. Plus, they add just the right amount of interest to an outfit to make you look extra put together. Statement Piece

You guys. I have wanted this coat for SO long. I have admired it, put it in my shopping cart about a million times, and finally took the plunge. And while the weather has been nice here in the SLC for the past couple of weeks, there is still plenty of chilly weather ahead of us (it snowed on Sunday!). And not only is this coat the perfect layering piece for all of that in-between weather, but it’s also a perfect statement piece for any wardrobe. Merry Merry

Merry Christmas Eve, sweet friends. I just wanted to take a minute away from the hustle and bustle of all of the craziness and wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas.

I have also been thinking a lot this Christmas season, that while it truly is the most wonderful time of the year for many, for equally as many, it can truly be one of the toughest times of the year. So I would challenge you all that as you are out and about running last-minute errands today, to follow through on those little acts of kindness that tug at our heart-strings but are so easy ignore the busier we are.

If you think something nice about a stranger you see, tell them. Open or hold a door for someone. Don’t be impatient with the sales clerk checking you out. Smile and say “hello” or “Merry Christmas” to people you pass. Buy a drink for someone at Starbucks. Help a little old lady with her groceries. Tell your family and friends how much you love and appreciate them. No matter how big or how small, YOU have the ability to really make a difference for someone who is hurting this holiday season and be a light for all to see the true meaning of Christmas. I love you all so much and am so grateful for all of your support this year. Thank YOU so much for following along with me on this journey.

Red and Green

Okay, okay. So as cliché as it might be this time of year, I do love a good old red and green combo. Particularly when it is slightly more subtle than a traditional Christmas red and green. So with that said, for today’s outfit, I substituted Kelly green with olive, which slightly tones down the combo. And while it still feels festive, it isn’t over the top. Can we also talk about this jacket for a minute? Not only is it super soft and comfy, but it’s also under $30! Amazing!

Twirly Girl

When I was a little girl, I LOVED skirts that I could twirl in. I mean really, what little girl doesn’t? And even as an adult, I am still drawn pretty feminine skirts and dresses that make me feel like twirling around like a little kid. My motto this season? Fringe, fringe, and MORE fringe! I am loving everything from footwear, to bags, to apparel. And while I think every gal should own a couple of fringe pieces in her closet this Fall (even just one is ok!), this is a great example of trend that may or may not still be around next season. So while it’s fun for right now in 2015, my advice is to be smart about your fringe purchases and not invest too much $ wise. Case and point are the shoes in today’s post. I have been eyeing for them for what seems like forever, but I just didn’t want to commit to the price tag. So when they finally went on major sale, I pounced. And you know what? I know I’ll have fun wearing them, but that I definitely won’t feel badly about buying them if fringe isn’t all the rage next season.
