I am loving the pastel trend this winter. To me, there is just something so soft and beautiful about wearing colors like lilac during the crisp, white, winter months. And not only are pastels an unexpected (and fun!) choice right now, but they are a nice transition from the bold holiday colors of red and green (not that you can’t still wear those colors now too!!)…

Dolled Up

I love getting dolled up. And the holiday season presents exactly that opportunity. But living in a state with a cold winter climate, sometimes I feel like I don’t have any coats or jackets that look or feel all that glamorous. So for quite a while, I have been on the hunt for a great (and affordable) faux fur animal print coat-and I am happy to report that I have finally found one (AND that it costs less than $65)!!! Not only is it super cozy (it reminds me of my favorite faux fur throw), but I love the vintage feel of it, and the idea of pairing it back to great heels and a dress for a NYE party, or wearing it with boots, skinny black pants, and a silk top (like I did for a friend’s casual wedding reception over the weekend)…

December Rain

We have had an unusually warm and dry winter here in the SLC thus far. So when the rain and sleet started coming down this past weekend, I was actually a little thrilled because I am hoping for a white Christmas (duh!), but also a little bummed because rain and blog photos usually don’t mix. But after having worn them for several months, I developed a severe allergic reaction to the glue. And the end result (besides being totally traumatized by the whole ordeal)? I am all about army green surplus jackets and they always seem to reign supreme in my closet this time of year. But truth be told, this camel color jacket has been my absolute favorite this season! The Holiday Season

I love this time of year. And one of my favorite parts? The holiday parties! And fortunately, this season, J and I have plenty to attend-the first of which is this weekend! So when I saw this skirt in the Nordstrom Savvy department a couple of weeks ago, I knew it was the perfect holiday party piece to add to my closet!
