Mellow Yellow

Contrary to popular belief, pink is my 2nd favorite color. In fact, it’s yellow that has always had my heart. So when I saw this coat, I knew it was perfect for me. Plus, there is nothing better than a candy colored coat to brighten up a dreary winter day. Yellow Pop

My mom has always had great taste. And even as an adult, I always anxiously anticipate the fun gifts she will spoil me with on special occasions. And this yellow clutch, along with my necklace, are not only two of my very favorite Christmas gifts (courtesy of my sweet mom), but they are both staples that will remain relevant in my wardrobe for a long time to come. Plus, who says you can’t wear sequins and feathers after the holidays?

Skirting the Issue

If you have been following my blog for a while, then you might remember that this past summer, I made a promise to push myself out of my comfort zone and wear more dresses. While it was difficult at first, I was so glad I did it and really felt like it pushed me to think outside of the box.

So, I have been trying the same thing this winter. But because of the colder weather, I have found it to be a little more challenging. That is why I have loved this skirt so much. Not only is it a beautiful, thick, flannel material, but it has a nice lining, and is the perfect length for the winter months. So it’s been an ideal piece for me to style when I’m making an effort to wear something other than just jeans or leggings (although it looks great with leggings too! ha!)!

Faux Fur

I love pretty much anything with faux fur during the colder months. And this winter, I am especially loving any faux fur in neutral colors. Particularly winter white. So this jacket had my name written all over it when I saw it on sale at Macy’s a couple of weeks ago. In my opinion, it’s tough to beat a cozy, cute fitting jacket this time of year.

I love a good vest. And when I saw this cute number on one of my favorite bloggers, I knew it would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe. Shades of Pink (and gray!)

I’m baaaaaack!!!! 🙂 Hope you guys don’t mind that I took a few days off from sharing outfit inspiration to enjoy my vacay in Nicaragua with my hubby. We had such a fun and relaxing time-but it’s nice to be back home and feels even better to be getting back into a routine-which of course, includes blogging!

So if you hadn’t already noticed, I’ve been really into a neutrals as of late. And as a professed lover of color, this is definitely a change for me. But one combo I have always, loved, whether I am in a neutral or color phase, has always been pale pink and gray. It is such a timeless and simple combo and perfect back to a bright pink pump if you are looking to add a little extra punch of color!

The Denim Jacket

Last week I wrote a post about wardrobe staples. And today, I wanted to talk specifically about one of the items that I had on my list. And that, my friends, is a denim jacket. I wear mine constantly (which y’all have probably noticed on the blog and on my Instagram). It’s a great layering piece, and obviously a great jacket for milder temps. And not only that, but it can be worn with dresses, pants, or skirts-dressed up or dressed down. I am telling you ladies, a denim jacket is season-less, timeless, and it’s a fairly inexpensive investment (which makes it an easy addition to any closet)!
