I travel a lot both personally and professionally, so am always on the hunt for comfy layering pieces to keep me cozy to and fro. So when ToAdorn (one of my very favorite daily deal sites) gifted me this darling cardigan from Tara Lynn’s Boutique, I knew it was going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. And it most definitely is. It’s just one of those easy pieces that can be tossed on over just about anything, can be easily tucked into your purse or carry on for travel, and my very favorite part (besides the stripes, obviously)? The cute suede elbow patches!

In honor of Halloween, today’s outfit post is brought to you by the colors orange and black. And while it might seem like a taboo combo, or at the very least a little tough to wrangle, I promise you can wear black and orange together without looking like you are dressing up for Halloween-or in support of your favorite team. The best bet? Stay away from a true orange. Instead, opt for shades of mandarin (like my outfit below), corals, or neon. All look fantastic with black and can be worn together anytime of the year…

Just A Sliver

One look that was all over NYFW that I am feeling a little on the fence about? Midriff baring tops. Now when I was in my early 20’s, I most definitely would have embraced this trend. But now that I am a littler older, it’s daring a look that pushes me out of my fashion comfort zone. And of course, forces me to acknowledge that certain trends are perhaps sometimes better suited for younger demographics. And while you won’t see me baring my full midriff anytime soon, I must admit I love the idea of taking a classic outfit, adding some pretty jewels and toughed-up shoes, and showing just a hint of skin. I hate to admit it, but fall is in the air. And as I feel the crispness start to infiltrate early mornings and late evenings, I can’t help but find myself drawn to more transitional pieces. Particularly anything leather, leopard, or with studs.

Summer Brights

I love neon. Especially a nice, bright neon yellow. And while it isn’t the easiest shade to wear, yellow in general is my absolute favorite color, so I’m partial. Which is why, of course, I couldn’t resist this pretty top. And while I can’t recommend this hue for everyone, what I can recommend is a pretty, dressed-up tank back to ripped jeans and heels for a summer night out on the town…
