Merry Merry

Merry Christmas Eve, sweet friends. I just wanted to take a minute away from the hustle and bustle of all of the craziness and wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas.

I have also been thinking a lot this Christmas season, that while it truly is the most wonderful time of the year for many, for equally as many, it can truly be one of the toughest times of the year. So I would challenge you all that as you are out and about running last-minute errands today, to follow through on those little acts of kindness that tug at our heart-strings but are so easy ignore the busier we are.

If you think something nice about a stranger you see, tell them. Open or hold a door for someone. Don’t be impatient with the sales clerk checking you out. Smile and say “hello” or “Merry Christmas” to people you pass. Buy a drink for someone at Starbucks. Help a little old lady with her groceries. Tell your family and friends how much you love and appreciate them. No matter how big or how small, YOU have the ability to really make a difference for someone who is hurting this holiday season and be a light for all to see the true meaning of Christmas. I love you all so much and am so grateful for all of your support this year. Thank YOU so much for following along with me on this journey.

When I was a little girl, I LOVED skirts that I could twirl in. I mean really, what little girl doesn’t? And even as an adult, I am still drawn pretty feminine skirts and dresses that make me feel like twirling around like a little kid. Holiday Ready

One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is dressing up for Holiday parties. And sequins of course. Lots and lots of sequins! So when I saw this darling silver matte sequin swing dress at Fira (one of my favorite online boutiques), I knew it would be perfect for the holiday season!

For today’s post, I’m styling it with a gorgeous blush jacket (that is UNDER $40, BTW), and my favorite floral crown, by the talented Miss Stevi Marie. Faux Fur

When I was in the 3rd grade, my auntie gave me a gorgeous white fur coat for Christmas. And let me tell you, I was absolutely enamored with it. That is until I overheard she and my mom talking about it on the phone and the fact that it was made from “bunnies”. And after I heard that, I never wore the coat again. But even though I learned form a very young age that I was not a proponent of real fur, I did stumble upon a love for faux fur that has never wavered. And every year when the temperature drops, I look forward to pulling out all of my faux fur pieces, especially my faux fur vests!!

Olive The Other Sequins

One of my favorite aspects about fashion (and home decor!) is repurposing things that I already own. And this sequin JCrew dress is a great example. I picked it up on clearance this summer and loved wearing it during the warmer months. But because December is the month of sequins (and lots of red and green!), I wanted to try styling it for colder weather. So I layered it with my favorite Portofino shirt from Express, and a new vest (that I’m completely obsessed with, BTW). And I have to say, I love the result. This is an outfit that would be great for a company Christmas party, a girl’s night out, or pretty much any dressy event that the month of December serves up!
