Summer Chambray

We have had a little break from the heat wave here in the SLC the past few days, which prompted me to break out my favorite lightweight summer chambray shirt. I am a fan of chambray no matter the season, but one of my favorite ways to wear it is back to a full skirt. And it was the perfect choice for the weather this week. Especially because it gave me an excuse to wear my favorite wedges. I seriously can’t get enough of these shoes! T-Shirt Dress

I’ve always wanted a cute t-shirt dress, but could never find one that was flattering and didn’t, ah-hem, put a little too much on display. So I was thrilled when I stumbled on this one at the Gap recently. Not only is it super comfy, but it hits in all the right places and is thick enough that it doesn’t show every detail. Plus, it comes in a ton of cute colors !

Neon

I love a good pop of neon. And this cute top from last summer is still one of my favorite things in my closet. It’s just one of those items that looks great with just about everything-denim, shorts, skirts-you name it! You can also see how I styled it last summer, here!

Flower Power

I am fairly short, at just 5’3″, but I have long legs and a short torso, so shopping in the petites department doesn’t typically work for me. I normally just buy regular sizing, and if I ever run into a pant inseam that is a little too long, I just take them to my (amazing!) tailor here in the SLC. So when I spotted this cute peplum jacket a couple of months ago at Macy’s, and the XS was too big for me, I was initially at a loss. But when I noticed it also came in petite, I decided to give it shot. And guess what? It worked perfectly! It was a great reminder for me that if I ever have trouble with regular sizing, that petites can be a great alternative. So if you are on the short side like me, don’t forget about the petite department!

Romper Time

When I stumbled on a romper version of my favorite shirt ever, I knew that I had to have it. But because I have long legs, and a short torso (I’m still only 5’3″), I tend to struggle with finding rompers that fit my body type. So when I put it on and it fit perfectly (and felt like pajamas!) it was a definite no-brainer. And it really is a perfect summer addition to my wardrobe that is different than anything else I own, all the while being as familiar as my favorite shirt. And an added bonus? It’s the perfect thing to wear for the 4th of July paired back to red heels and a bold red lip!

Weekend Vibes

So when I spotted this navy pleated number at BCBG, I knew it was a great summer dress-perfect for a plethora of different occasions, and an easy piece to style a lot of different ways. And those are the best types of items to add to your wardrobe-the ones that give you lots of options…

Sheinside

I’ve been eyeing the Sheinside website for quite a while now. So when they reached out and asked if I would be interested in trying out some of their clothes, I couldn’t help but oblige. And while there were SO many cute things to choose from on their site, I ultimately settled on a dress that is almost identical to my favorite Free People dress (which you can see here). At a mere price tag of $30 vs. the $148 original version, I wanted to compare the two and really get a feel for the quality of clothing on Sheinside. And you guys, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. While it is a little shorter than the my Free People dress, I overall like the fit better. The arms were also a little slimmer too, which I also prefer. And I have to say, I was also quite impressed with the quality-not only the was the fabric very nice, but the dress was also fully lined. After this experience, I will definitely be shopping with Sheinside again. In fact, you can see my current wish list at the bottom of the post!

We have been having the rainiest weather here in Utah, which has made it really difficult to take outfit photos. So my apologies for being a little quiet over here on the blog. Hopefully once we get through this week, our normal sunny weather will decide to return to us! But today, I wanted to share one of my favorite tops with you.
