One of my favorite Fall trends this year is the long vest and cardigan look. And at the risk of aging myself (yikes!), when I was in college, this was one of my very favorite trends. So it should come as no surprise that I am pretty darn excited to welcome these kinds of pieces back into my wardrobe. I know I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but I cannot get enough of long-sleeve dresses and booties this season. It is such an easy and comfy combo, but always leaves me feeling polished and put together. This gingham romper was one of my very favorite purchases of the summer. And because I’m not ready to put it away quite yet, I decided to change it up a bit and style it with a utility vest and booties to make it more appropriate for the Fall season. And you know what? Casual Friday

I love a good striped tee. Particularly when they are super soft and a little longer in the back than in the front. And my white jeans? Still going strong this fall season. In fact, I love this look for Fall so much, that this type of uniform will definitely be on repeat. I will just have to change out my heels for booties when the temps start to drop!

On a serious note, I also wanted to just take a minute and acknowledge today, September 11th. I still remember so vividly where I was and exactly what I was doing on this day 14 years ago. I remember watching towers fall while my roommates and I cried and clung to each other in our tiny little dorm room. I remember frantically trying to call friends who lived in in NYC to make sure they were ok. I remember how drastically things changed in those moments and how in the blink of an eye, things would never be the same. But most importantly, I remember those who lost their lives, the heroes, the first responders, the children who have grown up without with fathers and mothers. Every soul lost that day was so precious and taken from us much too soon. So even though life marches on, today will be a day full of reflection for me, as I know it will be for many others across this great country and around the world.

Hold tight to your loved ones, and never, ever forget.

No Parking

When I was a senior in high school, one of my favorite senior portraits was in front of a really cool “No Parking” sign painted on a falling down building. So when we were heading out to dinner in SF last weekend with friends and I saw this sign on the side of garage, I had to make J stop and snap some photos for the blog. And while I am wearing my usual go-to out outfit (leather jacket, a silky blouse, and my favorite skinnies), it’s my shoes that are noteworthy. As I’ve said many times before, I am a sucker for a great pair of statement shoes, and these certainly fit the bill. And not only is this particular pair gorgeous (you should see them in person!) AND under $70, but they are super comfy to boot!
