Pretty sure I’ve blogged enough about polka dots to give them a deserving spot on my FPF list. Whether it’s a top, a pair of shoes, a bag, a skirt, a dress, or a pair of pants, polka dots are one of those trends that can truly work for everyone. I mean really, how many other patterns are out there with the ability to portray both a youthful and sophisticated feel?

I love lunch dates. Whether it be with friends, my hubby, or my sweet co-workers, there is always something fun about “grabbing” lunch. Particularly during the summer months when it’s the perfect time to nab a seat on a patio somewhere. And as the temperature heats up with the progression of summer, sun dresses and maxi’s will definitely be my go-to for these types of outings. Bandwagon

I’m officially on the bandwagon-the chevron bandwagon, that is. And while I have always loved the print for party decorations, home decor, rugs, throw pillows, napkins, and pretty much anything else I see on Pinterest, I have never been totally wild about the bold print on clothing. Until I saw this cute mini-chevron print blouse at American Eagle, that is. I love the small take on a bold favorite and that it’s the perfect complement to the black and white trend this spring…

But since my guess is this will be a fleeting trend (and I’m trying to save up for sandals!), I wanted to find an affordable option. So I was beyond thrilled when I stumbled upon this pair from Target on sale for only $14.95. And not only were they a fantastic bargain, but they are really comfortable too. Wine Country

In my mind there isn’t much that can top a warm sunny day spent wine tasting with friends in gorgeous Sonoma. And because J decided to join me on a recent business trip to SF, we were afforded the opportunity to do just that. A perfect day filled to the brim with good food, sunshine, beautiful wineries, a stretch limo, lunch at my favorite restaurant, and of course, lots of laughter and memories shared with good friends we don’t get to see often enough…

So I have to make a confession. I didn’t pack anything on my trip to wear to wine country. I made the assumptoin that I would have time to do a little shopping in the city, but ended up being so busy with work, that unfortunately that was not the case. But even though I had to do a little scrambling Saturday morning to put something together, it was a good reminder that a chambray shirt is a perfect (and easy!) choice for just about any occasion.

Come Fly With Me

I am on the road a lot for work. And because I am in stores when traveling and have to wear all black, dressing for travel tends to be a fairly easy task. But when I travel for leisure, I find dressing for flights is not quite as easy. Comfort is key, but for me, sweat pants are definitely not an option. Instead, I like to select outfits that are not only comfortable and casual, but that are also just fashionable enough to have the ability to take me straight from the airport to lunch, dinner, drinks, or wherever I might need to go when I land!

J and I spent this past weekend in North Dakota visiting his family before his parents make the move to Montana in April. It was a bittersweet trip, but we had a fabulous time and shared lots of laughs and memories with two very special grandma’s, Justin’s mom and dad, and an amazing group of aunties, uncles, cousins, and extended family. It was a very special weekend and I am feeling extra blessed to have married into such a wonderful family!
