Winter Pastels

I love that it’s perfectly acceptable to wear pastels any time of the year now. So when I saw this pale pink sweater at JCrew recently, I was immediately drawn to it. Not only do I love the color, but it’s a nice relaxed fit which is little bit on the longer side, though not quite tunic length-which is a favorite silhouette of mine. I know that this will be a piece that I can style a multitude of different ways this season. And if you aren’t into pink (or pastels in the winter for that matter!), don’t worry, it comes in a ton of other colors too!

Girl About Town

My hubby races bikes every Saturday in the Fall. And after his race, we usually like to find a new place somewhere in the city to either grab a beer or a coffee and a treat to celebrate. Black and White

I love the black and white trend this season. And because black is such a staple (and something I know all of you already own in your own personal wardrobes), this should be an easy trend for anyone to get in on this season without necessarily having to pick up anything new. And while black and white is a relatively safe trend to try, bordering on the more serious and sophisticated side of style, remember that it’s okay to have a little fun with it and think outside of the box too-like mixing graphic prints and stripes together.

Ok guys, I have a confession to make. A lot of times when it comes to fashion, I can be rather boring. When I find an outfit combo that works, I often times just continue to repeat it, or slight variations of it (over and over). Take today’s post for example. I love the way this dress looks back to denim and a pop of neon, and if you remember this post, then today’s outfit might look awfully familiar to you. In all honesty though, I think it’s smart to remix your wardrobe-particularly if you are on a clothing budget or don’t love to shop. And dresses are a great starting piece that are easy to wear over and over in lots of different variations across multiple seasons…

Casual

J and I are officially on vacation this week. Hooray! And because we are road tripping from Utah to Montana, and will be spending our time on the water, in Glacier National Park, biking, and hanging with family and friends, my attire for the week is going to be pretty casual. In fact, most days you will probably find me in something pretty similar to today’s outfit: a comfy worn-in tee, destroyed denim shorts, casual wedges, minimal makeup and jewelry, and less than styled hair. And so today, I thought I’d show you a glimpse of the “everyday” me and hopefully provide some inspiration for what to wear in your real, everyday summer casual life!

So, I almost didn’t have any blog photos to share with you guys this week. For once, I was actually ahead of the game and shot some pics over the weekend, but when I went to import them into Lightroom, I received a dreaded error that my SD card was corrupted. I tried everything to retrieve the photos, but no luck. So thank goodness for my tech savvy hubby who was able to save the day for me! And so, in today’s outfit, it should be noted that the message on my new favorite graphic tee is not just dedicated to my love for the combination of neon yellow, and blue, but also, specifically to him. I love this sweatshirt. In fact, it was the only piece I ended up buying (well, keeping) from the 3.1 Phillip Lim and Target collaboration this past Fall. I love how playful and fun it is and I especially love that current fashion has made it perfectly acceptable to wear a good old sweatshirt back to boyfriend jeans, red lipstick, and high heels.

Raven + Lily

I am pretty sure that yesterday was the first Monday that I haven’t shared a blog post since I launched All Dolled Up. And if you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you should: alldolledupblog), then you know I have been in Boulder cheering on my hubby at Cyclorcross Nationals. And while we had a really fun weekend, horrible roads plus a sick husband on the drive home meant having to unexpectedly stay the night in a hotel in the middle-of-nowhere Wyoming. So my apologies for missing yesterday!

But now that I am back, I wanted to share with you an amazing company called Raven + Lily. I love to shop fair trade and have shared quite a few fair trade finds and companies on the blog in the past, and so I thought it was important to share the ah-mazingness of Raven + Lily with all of you. Raven + Lily is a company founded by two women who wanted to use fashion and ethical design as a “a platform to utilize those passions to alleviate poverty among women”. The necklace I am wearing in today’s post is a favorite of mine from their Ethiopian Collection and was created by HIV positive women from handmade beads made of melted bullet casings from previous war conflicts.
