I love stripes-any time of the year and for any occasion. And I especially love this JCrew striped mini. I love the vibrant colors mixed with a splash of gold. It feels festive and fun, while still being super casual (if you want it to be). I am even loving mixing metals and wearing both silver and gold with this particular piece. Summer Nights

Last night J and I went with some of our best friends to see one of our favorite musicians at one of the most beautiful amphitheaters ever-Michael Franti and Spearhead at Red Butte Gardens. It was an absolutely perfect night and we had an amazing time. And even though it was a little hot, we still decided to ride our vintage cruisers to the show so we didn’t have to deal with parking-and it was well worth the sweat. She’s Gone Country

I grew up in Montana, but ran off to college in Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University and chase the bright lights and shiny stars of a country music career. And through hard work and determination, I was lucky enough to land a regular singing gig at a bar downtown on the most coveted nights of the week. Oh how I loved that chapter in my life. And while I obviously made the decision somewhere along the line to walk away from it all and pursue a more “regular” life, I will always cherish my years in the Music city and Nashville will always hold an incredibly special place in my heart.

So last summer when a friend told J and me that the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville partners with the Sundance Resort in Utah every year to showcase the best songwriter’s from Nashville at Robert Redford’s beloved (and breathtakingly beautiful) resort, I knew I was all in. And so this year, when it fell over our anniversary weekend, I knew it was the perfect way to kick off our celebration. And a perfect evening it was…

And not only was it a perfect night of music in the mountains, it was also the perfect occasion to wear my favorite maxi dress. I am so in love with the vibrant colors and soft fabric of this maxi-I just can’t get enough. And while my hubby (along with most men) is not typically a fan of maxi dresses, he actually doesn’t mind this one. Lucky for him, because he’ll probably be seeing a lot of it this summer! 🙂

Get Your Tan On

With Memorial Day weekend upon us, the official start of summer just around the corner, and warm weather here to stay (fingers crossed!), I am ready to bust out the shorts, dresses, and tank tops. But what I am NOT ready to put on parade, is my pasty winter skin. And while you couldn’t pay me to step foot in a tanning bed, I do love the look of a nice bronze glow. Over the years I have tried a lot of different products in order to achieve a natural looking faux tan, but have either hated the results, or the smell. But a couple of years ago I discovered L’Oreal Sublime Glow lotion and I have never looked back. It’s a fantastic product that I use year round, and can’t imagine using anything else. And because I love the lotion so much, I have tried several of the other tanning and bronzing products in this line, but haven’t been super impressed. That is until I recently tried the tanning towels. And let me tell you, they are AH-mazing!! They are super easy to apply, are relatively odorless, and I find when I use them in tandem with my lotion, I am able to achieve that beautiful, natural looking faux tan I have been trying forever to create. Hallelujah!

So if you are looking to try a new tanning product, give these two a whirl. I am pretty sure you won’t be disappointed.
