Bloomingdales Friends and Family

Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone! In honor of the holiday, and my Irish heritage, I thought I would share a look incorporating the color green today. And of course, no look would be complete without a pop of pink and a little sparkle…

In my book, navy and mustard is a pretty tried and true color combination-no matter the season, no matter the trend. And I am loving the playful look of pairing a more formal top and jacket with ripped up, light wash jeans, and nude pumps. It’s unexpected, yet somehow still classic…

It took me a little while to hop on the whole track pant band wagon, but am I sure glad that I finally did! Not only are they as comfy as sweatpants, but they look fantastic back to heels. And who doesn’t love to look to put together while being comfortable at the same time??

Happy, happy Friday to you! I am flying to Chicago for a baby shower this weekend. And while I’m a little nervous about how cold it’s going to be, I couldn’t be any more excited to see some of my dearest friends from college. Be sure to follow along on Instagram to check out my adventure and the Windy City, and of course what I’ll be wearing!!

Even though I am a color person, sometimes there is nothing I crave more than a basic neutral outfit without any color what-so-ever. It is such a chic, blank slate and something about that just feels so refreshing. But I have to tell you, that when it came time to photograph this outfit, my husband laughed at me! Like, an actual, audible, are you really wearing that kind of a laugh! Turns out he thinks my vest looks like a shag rug! And I have to say, I think he’s right. But on the other hand, I also have to say that I love this vest. I tried to hunt down the original jacket version that was popular on so many blogs earlier this season, but didn’t have any luck. So I was thrilled to stumble upon it as a vest. And not only is it a vest (and I’m pretty obsessed with vests) but it’s super cozy and soft, and it even has pockets. So at the end of the day, I love it and am resolved to rock it-even if my husband thinks I look like I’m wearing a giant piece of carpet for a top!

I have to admit, I usually get pretty excited every year when Pantone announces their “official” color of the year. But last year I was so thrilled when they announced that the “it” color of 2013 was Emerald Green, that I didn’t hold out much hope for 2014-that is until they announced that their official color of the year was Radiant Orchid (insert swoon here). Now if there is one color that could top Emerald Green in my book, this is most definitely it. So what better way to kick off my 2014 blog posts than with an ode to Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s official color of 2014…

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I have to admit, I’m a little sad to be back to the grind today. My time away from work just seemed to go by so quickly. But the good news is, I have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of months!
Happy Monday! And thanks for stopping by!

P.S. How amazingly gorgeous is Utah? So blessed to live in this beautiful state!
