When I think of holiday fashion, I think about dressing up-sequins and sparkles, high heels and statement jewelry, and lots and lots of red. But one thing I don’t often plan, or think about for that matter, is a comfy, cozy outfit to wear for lounging around on Christmas in between opening presents and dinner festivities. And so today, I wanted to share a look that is festive enough to wear for the holidays, while still being super comfy and at the same time!

Party Pants

I have been on the hunt for a pair of sequin pants for quite a while now. And believe me, it was much more difficult than I could have ever anticipated. So I was absolutely thrilled when I found this fantastic black pair of sequin pants at Bebe for a steal of a price. In my opinion, they are the perfect holiday party attire. And while I am loving them back to plaid, I can’t wait to style them more ways this holiday season!

Buffalo

I love plaid. Like really love it. But of all of the cute plaids I’ve seen this season, a classic buffalo check plaid just might be my favorite. And so when I saw this scarf at Gap (for 40%!), I knew it was coming home with me. And hats! Oh my gosh. I LOVE hats! I mean really, how easy (and fun) is it to just throw on a super simple outfit and a few cute accessories to really an outfit take it up a notch!

J and A After Dark

This fall, J and I decided that we wanted some updated pictures of the two of us. And so, we enlisted the help of our super talented friend Sam Kanzler of Kanzler Foto. She and her hubby had taken some photos of J and me a few years ago, and not only were they amazing, but the four of us became fast friends. Besides being incredibly talented, Mike and Sam are two of the most generous, kindest, and funniest people that I know. They are just those kind of friends you feel especially blessed to have found in life. Boots

I have a slight obsession with cognac boots-or more specifically these cognac boots. I wear them more than any other piece of footwear that I own and I am feeling pretty bummed that they are all but about worn out. And because I knew this would most likely be their last season, I have been on the hunt for a replacement pair all fall. And surprisingly I have had absolutely zero luck. Maybe I’ve set my standards too high, but how hard could it possibly be to find a pair in the right shade of cognac with a low heel (wedge or stacked), wide enough to fit my calves, that go with everything, and are neither too dressy, nor too casual? Apparently it’s nearly impossible. Looks like a trip to the cobbler is in my very near future-I need all the help I can get prolonging the life of these babies…

While I am always sad to see the weekend go, I couldn’t be happier that this one is over because I am so excited for Thanksgiving. I. CAN. HARDLY. STAND. IT. It is one of my very favorite days of the year and I can’t wait to celebrate the day. You might have guessed pink, but yellow is actually my very favorite color. And one of my favorite ways to wear it as of late is in a neon hue back to black with a pop of leopard. And while I believe it’s perfectly acceptable to wear neon and bright colors all year round (and do!) during the colder months, it is good to ground them with darker colors making your brights feel more appropriate for the season…

Dream Coat

We had our first snow here in the SLC this weekend. It was a beautiful day on Saturday at almost 70 degrees, but the wind was whipping through the valley all day which usually signals an impending storm front. So without even having to check the weather, I knew come Sunday morning, the chance of waking up to snow was pretty good. And while I must say I have mixed feelings about it, one thing I was most definitely excited about was getting out my winter coats. And speaking of coats, if there is one trend that every gal should jump on this season, it’s adding a colorful jacket or coat to your winter wardrobe.
