There was a period in time that I wore this denim vest so much that I had to make a conscious effort not to wear it so often. And I did such a good job of avoiding it that it ended up buried in the back of my closet and forgotten about for a period of time. To me, there is just something about a vest (whether it be denim, down, leather, fur, etc.), that just adds that extra pop to any outfit. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I was lucky enough that one of my very best friends came to the SLC to visit me. And let me tell you, we had the most amazing time. From shopping, to manicures, to eyelash extensions, to fun dinners out on the town, and even a little Sundance Film Festival action, it will be a weekend that I will always fondly remember. Sometimes there just isn’t anything better than girl time.

I am loving the sneak peeks I am getting through social media from all of the happenings in NYC for Fashion Week. And I have to say that one trend I am happy to see will be continuing into the Spring 2014 season is black and white. In my opinion, no other color combo creates such perfect harmony while being so chic and effortless at the same time. Plus it creates the ideal canvas to add a pop of color, or a pretty metallic.

Stormy Weather

While I spend a lot of time on the road for my job, one of the perks of all of the travel is that every couple of months, I get to take a trip back to my home state of Montana. And depending on the time of year and our schedules, sometimes it works out (like it did this past weekend) that J can come and join me and we can sneak in a long weekend in one of our favorite places-which also happens to be where we first met. And while the weather was cold and stormy (which required a little more layering than I’m used to this time of year), we still managed to have a great time with friends, visited all of our favorites places (and discovered some new), and were even able to sneak in a few miles on the bikes in between showers…
