I think every outfit is made that much better with a great pair of shoes. So when I found these amazing pink suede heels for under $50, I knew that they were the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. Birthday Balloons…

I have always wanted to do a blog post with balloons (thanks a lot, Pinterest), but the opportunity had just really never presented itself. That is until yesterday, when J surprised me with flowers and balloons before we left town for a quick weekend birthday celebration. And so today, in honor of my birthday, I thought I would celebrate by accessorizing my outfit with a whole bunch of pink balloons. Because if you can’t accessorize with balloons on your birthday, then really, when can you?

I travel a lot both personally and professionally, so am always on the hunt for comfy layering pieces to keep me cozy to and fro. So when ToAdorn (one of my very favorite daily deal sites) gifted me this darling cardigan from Tara Lynn’s Boutique, I knew it was going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. And it most definitely is. It’s just one of those easy pieces that can be tossed on over just about anything, can be easily tucked into your purse or carry on for travel, and my very favorite part (besides the stripes, obviously)? The cute suede elbow patches!

Back To Basics

Sometimes when I am shooting outfits for the blog, I feel like I need to layer on extravagant jewelry and accessories, and create outfits with lots of details and interest. I mean obviously, those types of things photograph better, and I, of course love the challenge of coming up with unique combinations of patterns and accessories to share with you guys (not to mention that it keeps you all interested)! But on a daily basis, my style is really pretty simple. And so today, I thought I’d take you back to the basics and share with you an outfit you would most likely catch me in during the work week: a go-to pair of black skinnies, a comfy button down, minimal jewelry, and a great pair of pumps. Ok, ok, so maybe the pumps aren’t so basic. But what can I say? Shoes are my weakness!

Jean Jacket

Whether you call it a denim jacket or a jean jacket, if you don’t own one, then you should! Denim jackets are a key item for Spring, and a great investment piece that will last you for seasons to come. And while they are a great layering piece while we wait for the temps to warm up, they are also really cute. In fact, my favorite way of styling them as of late is back to flirty dresses and skirts-allowing me to get into my summer wardrobe a little earlier than usual.
