White After Labor Day

I’m baaaaaack! Been a bit of a rough week for me over here. I got some bad spider bites while we were on a float trip this past weekend and have been having an allergic reaction to them in the form of hives all over my arms and legs! Gross! Didn’t figure you all would want to see that on the blog, so I’ve just been taking it easy this week.

Fortunately, I started to feel a little better last night which is why I’m finally back today. And good thing too, because I want to talk about how much I love white pants!! I was so hesitant to buy them at first because I knew I would get them dirty (which I pretty much do every time I wear them), but it has been so worth it. Not only do they look great with almost every cute summer top in my closet (especially bright colors!), but I can’t wait to transition these bad boys into Fall with booties and oversized sweaters! Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day???

We have been having the rainiest weather here in Utah, which has made it really difficult to take outfit photos. So my apologies for being a little quiet over here on the blog. Hopefully once we get through this week, our normal sunny weather will decide to return to us! But today, I wanted to share one of my favorite tops with you. And not just because I love it, but because you can score it on MAJOR sale today! Not only is it the perfect length (a little longer than most button downs), but it has super cute grosgrain ribbon trim, and is the perfect punch of color for both spring and summer (think of how cute it would look with white!!). Stepping Out

I tend to gravitate towards the same kinds of items: button-downs, t-shirts and cardis, black leather jackets and ripped jeans-if you follow along with my blog, then you’ve probably noticed! lol But one of the best parts of having a blog is that it forces me to take a look at my closet and make smart decisions when adding to my wardrobe. So when I saw this shirt at Zara when I was in Seattle for business meetings last week, I knew it would be a great investment. Not only is a silhouette that I don’t own anything similar to, but it is also a print that is completely different from anything else I own (and perfect for Spring, of course!)! So my advice to you guys today? Even though it is easy to buy the same kinds of things that we like to gravitate towards, it is important to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and add unique pieces to your closet that you will keep for years to come!

Leopard Blazer

Like I’ve always said, leopard can be used as a neutral and works well back to pretty much any color you have in your closet. But truth be told, leopard and red is one of my all-time favorite combos-a pair that I often find myself gravitating towards. And since neutrals have been reigning supreme in my closet as of late, I decided it was time to put a little pop of color back in my wardrobe-and this was the perfect choice!

White Out

I have been really into neutrals lately. But perhaps equally as high on my radar is anything white. And based on what’s going on out in the market, I can tell I’m not alone! White is one of the hottest trends of the season. And with warmer temps upon us, I am ready to put all things white on heavy rotation in my closet! But I want to know, what are you guys thinking about the white trend this season?

And every time I see it, I have a good chuckle, because sometimes it isn’t that far from the truth! Such was the case for the sweater in today’s post. I tried it on at JCrew last summer and decided not to buy it (even though I loved it). And I have always regretted not purchasing it. So when I saw that JCrew Factory released an almost identical version a few weeks ago-I pounced! And I am SO glad that I did. Shades of Pink (and gray!)

I’m baaaaaack!!!! 🙂 Hope you guys don’t mind that I took a few days off from sharing outfit inspiration to enjoy my vacay in Nicaragua with my hubby. We had such a fun and relaxing time-but it’s nice to be back home and feels even better to be getting back into a routine-which of course, includes blogging!

So if you hadn’t already noticed, I’ve been really into a neutrals as of late. And as a professed lover of color, this is definitely a change for me. But one combo I have always, loved, whether I am in a neutral or color phase, has always been pale pink and gray. It is such a timeless and simple combo and perfect back to a bright pink pump if you are looking to add a little extra punch of color!
