Cozy

If you are looking to step up your outerwear game this season, then I would highly recommend trying a furry or fuzzy coat.  I initially picked up a blush pink version (which you can see here), and loved it so much, that I have been on the hunt for a more casual option the past few weeks.  And I just so happened to luck out and find this cozy one (on sale!) that was exactly what I was looking for.  Not only do I love the way it looks, but it is incredibly warm and pretty much feels like I am wearing a cloud.  Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post to shop this coat and my other favorite furry coats of the season!

White Out

I have been really loving white this summer.  And you know what else I have been loving?  SheIn (formerly Sheinside)!  They have the cutest clothes for really amazing prices.  And I have been impressed with the quality of all of the items I have ordered as well-especially this top.  It is fully lined and the fabric is gorgeous-not to mention the fact that it looks WAY more expensive than it is.  Would you believe me if I told you it was under $20??? Plus, if you spend over $49 with SheIn right now, you can get 35% off your order with code: sas35 at checkout.  How’s that for a Monday pick me up?

Romper Time

When I stumbled on a romper version of my favorite shirt ever, I knew that I had to have it.  But because I have long legs, and a short torso (I’m still only 5’3″), I tend to struggle with finding rompers that fit my body type.  So when I put it on and it fit perfectly (and felt like pajamas!) it was a definite no-brainer.  And it really is a perfect summer addition to my wardrobe that is different than anything else I own, all the while being as familiar as my favorite shirt.  And an added bonus?  It’s the perfect thing to wear for the 4th of July paired back to red heels and a bold red lip!

Texture

It’s no secret that I love print mixing.  But what you might not know is that I am also a fan of mixing different textures and fabrics.  And when I stumbled on this fun version of a classic surplus coat while recently shopping for a dress for my cousin’s wedding, I just couldn’t help myself. It’s the perfect Fall piece with just enough of a twist to make an old staple feel new again…

Pucker Up!

I get a lot of questions about the different red lipsticks that I wear on my blog.  And so today, I wanted to share my four favorites with you.  Now truth be told, I am a total lip gloss junkie and don’t usually tend to gravitate towards lipstick-mostly because I have always found them to be messy and uncomfortable.  BUT since discovering  these 4 products, I find myself wearing lipstick more and more often.  And more importantly, actually liking it!
NARS Heat Wave: really fun orange/red; my go to in the summer; lightweight, but not super long lasting
STILA Fiery: burgundy red color; long lasting vinyl gloss that wears like a lipstick; pretty comfortable, and amazingly long lasting (even through drinking and eating); sponge applicator makes it easy to apply
URBAN DECAY Revolution in 69: true bright red, my personal favorite lipstick (in all colors!); super comfy, long lasting, easy to apply
MAC Ruby Woo: super fun color; cool red tone with a matte finish; a little drying-definitely pair with a gloss
Happy, happy Friday to all of you!  Thank you SO much for stopping by!

Transition

I hate to admit it, but fall is in the air.  And as I feel the crispness start to infiltrate early mornings and late evenings, I can’t help but find myself drawn to more transitional pieces.  Particularly anything leather, leopard, or with studs.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Day to Night

People often ask me for tips on how to create an outfit that you can take from day to night. And while the task might sound daunting, it is actually a pretty simple thing to do. All you have to do is think layering and remember that in these instances a cardigan or blazer can be your best ally.

Take the below outfit, for example. I paired my neon skinnies back a crisp white off-the-shoulder tee (perfect for an evening on the town), but layered it with a conservative white blazer to go about my day. Two looks, one day. Pretty easy, right?

J and I still love to go on dates, and due to our opposite schedules, I often find myself going straight from work to dinner or drinks. I run into the same issue when traveling for work, heading directly from the office to dinner with friends in whatever city I happen to be  visiting.  And because of these frequent situations, I find myself constantly having to create these types of looks.  So with that said, the best words of wisdom I have to offer you when faced with creating a look you can take from day to night, is to really utilize those layering pieces in your closet.  A blazer can be your best wardrobe friend.  AND you can also bring a change of shoes and throw on some bright red lipstick to really up the ante for your evening look.

Hope everyone has a fabulous 4th!!!
