Skirting the Issue

If you have been following my blog for a while, then you might remember that this past summer, I made a promise to push myself out of my comfort zone and wear more dresses. While it was difficult at first, I was so glad I did it and really felt like it pushed me to think outside of the box.

So, I have been trying the same thing this winter. But because of the colder weather, I have found it to be a little more challenging. That is why I have loved this skirt so much. Not only is it a beautiful, thick, flannel material, but it has a nice lining, and is the perfect length for the winter months. So it’s been an ideal piece for me to style when I’m making an effort to wear something other than just jeans or leggings (although it looks great with leggings too! ha!)!

Fringe Benefits

I love a good striped dress. And with the slightly cooler weather here in the SLC that has been layering itself in with our typically hot temps, I have found that some evenings, it’s nice to have a light coat with me as an option. Plus these tassel shoes. I can’t even. I’m pretty sure they are my favorite purchase from the #NSale. They are less than $90 and also come in black and red. I love a good jacket! Especially this time of year when the temps are warming up, but it’s not quite warm enough (at least where I live!) to go without some layers. I had been eyeing this jacket at JCrew for quite some time, so when I finally went on sale, I pounced. It is a classic piece that I will have in my closet for years to come and lately that is what I am trying to focus on-making smart shopping decisions.
