This gingham romper was one of my very favorite purchases of the summer. And because I’m not ready to put it away quite yet, I decided to change it up a bit and style it with a utility vest and booties to make it more appropriate for the Fall season. And you know what? Wine Not?

J and I were in Sonoma this past weekend doing a little biking and wine tasting, and even though the temps were unusually hot, the leaves were changing colors and Fall was definitely in the air. So I of course, took full advantage of the opportunity and packed some cute plaid and my favorite booties. And I have to tell you guys, wearing dresses with booties is my very favorite kind of outfit right now. And if you are anything like me, it is the perfect transitional combination while the temps are still warm but you’re craving Fall fashion…

J and I are off again today and heading to Vegas for a bike race, a little pool action and a nice long weekend. I’m pretty sure between leisure and work travel, I have been living out of my suitcase (literally!) for the last 6 weeks. Kinda crazy, but pretty fun. And because it has been a little cooler in the SLC the past few days, they have been a perfect choice to wear back to my favorite button-down shirts and wedges. We have had such a mild fall here in the SLC, that I almost forgot how brutal it can be to have to take blog photos during the winter months. But boy, was I sure reminded in a hurry when we shot these photos on Saturday. I guess it’s time to break out the winter coats, and pile on the layers. And speaking of layers? Surplus vests over plaid and flannels is still a combo at the top of my list this season…

Blanketed

I am a big fan of the blanket scarf trend. When the temps drops and there is snow on the ground, there is just something so cozy and comforting about wrapping up in one. So when I was in SF a couple of weeks ago for business meetings, I popped into Zara to check out their assortment for the season (since they are the authority in chic blanket scarves). And I have to say that while I was smitten with the entire collection (and a lot of other things in the store, for that matter), the scarf below was the one that stole my heart. And now that it has finally cooled off in the SLC, I can already tell that it is going to be a go-to item in my closet this season!
