You all probably know by now what a huge fan I am of army green. But what you might not know, is that one of my favorite ways to wear it is with neon or a bright pop of color. It’s a really easy way to change-up pieces you already have in your closet and give them a fresh new look.

A yellow blazer is a piece I have been wanting to add to my wardrobe for the last 5 years, but I have never been able to find quite the right one. I tend to gravitate towards the same kinds of items: button-downs, t-shirts and cardis, black leather jackets and ripped jeans-if you follow along with my blog, then you’ve probably noticed! lol But one of the best parts of having a blog is that it forces me to take a look at my closet and make smart decisions when adding to my wardrobe. So when I saw this shirt at Zara when I was in Seattle for business meetings last week, I knew it would be a great investment. Not only is a silhouette that I don’t own anything similar to, but it is also a print that is completely different from anything else I own (and perfect for Spring, of course!)! So my advice to you guys today? Even though it is easy to buy the same kinds of things that we like to gravitate towards, it is important to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and add unique pieces to your closet that you will keep for years to come!

I love, love, love the military trend. Most likely because I have an obsession with cute jackets. And what’s cuter than a bomber? Or a surplus jacket? They are the perfect topper to just about any outfit. And while I normally tend to gravitate towards shades of army green, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this navy number when I spotted it at Macy’s a couple of months back. And even though the temps are still pretty warm, I can already tell that this is going to be a fantastic staple in my fall wardrobe…

Don’t you love when you have been eyeing something online and it turns out to be even better in person? Such was the case with this cute peplum top. I had seen it online, but as much as I love it, have a hard time with the whole peplum trend (I am very short-waisted, so they don’t normally do much for me). But when my family was here for Memorial Day weekend, my mom treated my sister-in-law and me to a traditional shopping trip, and I was able to spot it on the rack at Forever21. And I have to say, it’s one of those Forever21 pieces that is quite impressive. While most of the stuff in that store is fairly cheap both in quality and in price, and what I would consider “disposable” fashion (not that it can’t still have a very desirable place in your wardrobe), they do have items (if you have the patience) that are actually quite nice and very well made. And this top is one of them. The fit and fabric are both lovely and in person it looks very expensive. Don’t you just love finding bargains like? Me and my bank account sure do. 😉
