Gingham

I love this little gingham top.  It’s such an easy, breezy piece to just throw on and go. And guess what?  It would be perfect to wear on the 4th of July!  It also comes in a few other colors and prints and is less than $15.  Definitely a great piece to add to your closet this summer!

Neon

You all probably know by now what a huge fan I am of army green.  But what you might not know, is that one of my favorite ways to wear it is with neon or a bright pop of color.  It’s a really easy way to change-up pieces you already have in your closet and give them a fresh new look.

Plus, I still can’t get over this studded jacket.  I’ve had it for 2 years now and I wear it all the time.  I would highly recommend it if you have been eyeing it.  It literally goes with everything and is fantastic quality.  You can also see how I styled it in the black here.

Denim Vest

Another day, another vest.  Or so seems to go my wardrobe rotation these days.  But really, I just can’t help it.  Vests are the perfect piece to throw on this time of year for a little extra layering.  Plus, they add just the right amount of interest to an outfit to make you look extra put together.  So even though I know I’ve told you guys a million times, I’ll say it again, every gal needs a great denim vest in her wardrobe!DSC_5037DSC_5132DSC_5075 DSC_5045 DSC_5062 DSC_5067 DSC_5056 DSC_5089 DSC_5108 DSC_5087 DSC_5114Top: ASOS (love this and it’s only $35!)

Stripes

Stripes, peplum, and jackets.  Three of my very favorite things.  So when I saw this cute little number (for under $20, no less), I knew it was meant to be.  Not only is this a perfect piece for Spring, but it’s a great item to have in your closet to just grab and go.  Gotta love pieces that make getting dressed easy!

Sunshine On My Shoulders

A yellow blazer is a piece I have been wanting to add to my wardrobe for the last 5 years, but I have never been able to find quite the right one.  And after searching high and low for so long, I had all but given up until I saw this one in the window at Zara in downtown Seattle a couple of weeks ago.  I knew the minute I saw it, that it was exactly what I had been looking for!  And I absolutely LOVE it!  I know I’ve said it before, but blazers are a great investment piece to add to your wardrobe.  Not only are they classic and never go out of style, but you can wear them to just about any event-whether it be social or work related.  So if you are looking for items to add to your wardrobe that go a long way and create a lot of outfit options without breaking the bank, then be sure to shop my favorite blazer picks below…

Stepping Out

I tend to gravitate towards the same kinds of items: button-downs, t-shirts and cardis, black leather jackets and ripped jeans-if you follow along with my blog, then you’ve probably noticed! lol  But one of the best parts of having a blog is that it forces me to take a look at my closet and make smart decisions when adding to my wardrobe.  So when I saw this shirt at Zara when I was in Seattle for business meetings last week, I knew it would be a great investment.  Not only is a silhouette that I don’t own anything similar to, but it is also a print that is completely different from anything else I own (and perfect for Spring, of course!)!  So my advice to you guys today?  Even though it is easy to buy the same kinds of things that we like to gravitate towards, it is important to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and add unique pieces to your closet that you will keep for years to come!

About Face

I love, love, love the military trend. Most likely because I have an obsession with cute jackets. And what’s cuter than a bomber? Or a surplus jacket? They are the perfect topper to just about any outfit. And while I normally tend to gravitate towards shades of army green, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this navy number when I spotted it at Macy’s a couple of months back. And even though the temps are still pretty warm, I can already tell that this is going to be a fantastic staple in my fall wardrobe…

Simple.

In an effort not to overload you all on color this week, I thought today I would post a more neutral outfit. Because after all, sometimes it’s true what they say, simple is best. And while I don’t always necessarily gravitate towards these types of vintagey tops, the fabric and drape of this one was just to pretty to pass by. You can also see how I styled it another way here

Neutral Obsession

As much as I am enamored with color, I am perhaps equally as enamored with neutrals. They are soft, feminine, and, most importantly, a refreshing break from the neons and brights that I normally find myself gravitating towards (more often than not)…

Don’t you love when you have been eyeing something online and it turns out to be even better in person?  Such was the case with this cute peplum top.  I had seen it online, but as much as I love it, have a hard time with the whole peplum trend (I am very short-waisted, so they don’t normally do much for me).  But when my family was here for Memorial Day weekend, my mom treated my sister-in-law and me to a traditional shopping trip, and I was able to spot it on the rack at Forever21.  And I have to say, it’s one of those Forever21 pieces that is quite impressive.  While most of the stuff in that store is fairly cheap both in quality and in price, and what I would consider “disposable” fashion (not that it can’t still have a very desirable place in your wardrobe), they do have items (if you have the patience) that are actually quite nice and very well made.  And this top is one of them.  The fit and fabric are both lovely and in person it looks very expensive.  Don’t you just love finding bargains like?   Me and my bank account sure do. 😉

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
