I am really into anything velvet right now. It’s been one of my favorite trends since the beginning of the season, and lends itself perfectly to the holidays. Plus, how cute would this dress be for an upcoming Christmas party? And at less than $40, it definitely won’t break the bank.

Two of my favorite trends this season? Off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, and over-the-knee boots. So it was an obvious choice to pair the two together. And if you want to try the over-the-knee boot trend this season, this is the pair to try! They look so much like the expensive designer version, but are just under $100!

Happy LEAP DAY, my loves! Contrary to how it might appear on the blog, I love to re-wear and re-style things in my wardrobe. In fact, if you’ve been following me for any length of time, then you know I am a big fan of adding pieces to your closet that can be styled multiple ways. And this dress is a great example. Today I’m styling it with over-the-knee boots, and my favorite blush pink vest. But you can see how I styled it last fall, with gray booties and a Panama hat. Same dress, totally different looks. Now how fun is that? Creature Comforts

I was just telling a girlfriend of mine last night that when I started blogging, it made me realize what a creature of habit I am. I tend to gravitate towards the same types of items and the same kinds of outfits. So being a blogger has been a great way to force myself out of my comfort zone and try new things. And today’s look is a great example of that. A couple of years ago, I never would have tried an outfit like this. And while it still wouldn’t be my go-to (like yesterday’s outfit!), I love pushing myself to try new trends and new looks. Afterall, that’s what makes fashion fun and exciting, right?

So it should come as no surprise that today’s outfit is a typical go-to uniform for me. You know those outfits that just feel comfortable? This is one of those for me. An easy, breezy combo that still feels put together, all while being super comfortable. Perfect for a Monday.

Faux Fur

When I was in the 3rd grade, my auntie gave me a gorgeous white fur coat for Christmas. And let me tell you, I was absolutely enamored with it. That is until I overheard she and my mom talking about it on the phone and the fact that it was made from “bunnies”. And after I heard that, I never wore the coat again. But even though I learned form a very young age that I was not a proponent of real fur, I did stumble upon a love for faux fur that has never wavered. And every year when the temperature drops, I look forward to pulling out all of my faux fur pieces, especially my faux fur vests!!
