Instagram Outfits

If you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you can follow me  here), then you know I post a lot of daily outfits that don’t necessarily always make it to the blog.  And because there has been so much interest and so many questions about the items I am wearing in those posts, today I wanted to take a minute and share the outfit links to your favorite looks from Instagram! Happy shopping and happy Friday!!

Jean Jacket

Whether you call it a denim jacket or a jean jacket, if you don’t own one, then you should! Denim jackets are a key item for Spring, and a great investment piece that will last you for seasons to come. And while they are a great layering piece while we wait for the temps to warm up, they are also really cute. In fact, my favorite way of styling them as of late is back to flirty dresses and skirts-allowing me to get into my summer wardrobe a little earlier than usual.  And if you are really feeling the denim jacket this season (like I am), then I would be sure to venture out and purchase one in both a dark wash (see yesterday’s post), and also in a light wash…

Tulle Cool For School

Ahhh tulle, how I love you so.  So fun, so whimsical, and the perfect fabrication to make any girl feel like a princess.  And let me tell you ladies, tulle isn’t just for ballerinas anymore.  So if you are looking for something different (and super fun!) to add to your wardrobe this spring, then a tulle skirt is the ticket.  You can wear them back to anything from a t-shirt, to a blouse, to a button down, to a jean-jacket.  Rest assured, you will be pleasantly surprised at the plethora of things you will able to style your tulle skirt with.  But perhaps more importantly, how fabulous it will make you feel…

Easter Best

When I was a little girl, my mom always dressed me to the nines for Easter Sunday-pretty dress, white gloves, and of course an Easter bonnet.  And while I don’t bust out gloves or a new bonnet for Easter Sunday anymore, it is still ingrained in me to get dressed up for the occasion.  And what better outfit for Easter Sunday than a candy colored sweater and pretty floral skirt?

Red Pop

Listen up ladies, red isn’t just for the holiday season anymore!  Paired with the right color combinations (think neutrals!!), red is a color we should be wearing all. year. long.  And while I typically tend to shy away from reds during the warmer months (as I’m sure we all tend to do), paired back to nudes and light wash denim, red really is the perfect pop of color for Spring!

Same Same

Leopard on leopard.  What do y’all think?  Yay or nay?  I think yay.  I am obviously a huge fan of print mixing, but typically gravitate towards pairing different patterns together (florals and stripes, stripes and leopard, polka dots and stripes, etc.).  And while I believe it’s perfectly acceptable to mix two of the same print together, it definitely works best if you follow a couple of rules.  The first is that the patterns are in the same or a complimentary color palette.  And the second is that the size of the two different prints are contrasting.  Pretty easy, don’t you think?

Polka Dots

There was a period in time when I went a little overkill on the whole polka dot thing, so I made a conscious effort to cut back.  And in doing so, it’s been quite a while since I posted a polka dot look on the blog.  So after a nice little hiatus, I finally feel like now is the appropriate time to bring polka dots back to All Dolled Up!  Not to mention that it has been unseasonably warm here in Utah this week, and this sweater is the perfect transitional piece that feels fitting for a winter that is beginning to feel an awful lot like spring…

I am on the road again for work this week.  And between vacation and work trips, will be on the road every week for the next 5 weeks!  I guess I better get really comfortable living out a suitcase until March! Sheesh!!!

Happy hump day!

Perfect Harmony

I am loving the sneak peeks I am getting through social media from all of the happenings in NYC for Fashion Week.  And I have to say that one trend I am happy to see will be continuing into the Spring 2014 season is black and white.  In my opinion, no other color combo creates such perfect harmony while being so chic and effortless at the same time.  Plus it creates the ideal canvas to add a pop of color, or a pretty metallic.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  Ours was packed with fun events-so of course it went by way too fast.  But fortunately, we’ve got a lot of fun things on the horizon to look forward to, including a mini Vegas vacay and a trip back to Nashville for my 10 year Vanderbilt reunion.  And believe me, I’m already planning my outfits for both trips and can’t wait to share them with all of you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Foiled

I love silver. And metallics. And sparkles. In fact, when I was in high school, my girlfriends and I loved the Spice Girls so much that we each had our own Spice Girl name. And I was Sparkle Spice. Go figure. So needless to say, I am loving the sequin and sparkle t-shirt trend this season. Especially when paired back to destroyed jeans and other accessories of a like metallic, for a sparkly, yet monochromatic look…

So I’ve got a question.  What do you all think of my silver Michael Kors bag?  I got it for a steal at Macy’s, but am on the fence as to whether or not it’s a keeper.  Would love to know if you guys think I should love it or leave it.

Graphic

I am really into graphic tees right now. Like, really into them. I love the idea of throwing on a tee-shirt back to a ripped up pair of jeans and then adding fancy heels and accessories to dress up the look. I guess maybe it makes me a feel a little rock and roll. Plus, it’s a great way to be super comfy while looking put together at the same time.

So I have to say, as much as I love graphic tee’s, I do find it a little difficult to find a good one.  It seems to me that more often than not, the sayings on them tend to be a little young, or too cliché for me to want to broadcast on my body.   So if you are on the hunt for one (and you should be!) the best luck I’ve had in finding cute, age appropriate graphic tee’s is at JCrew, JCrew Factory, American Eagle, and TJMaxx.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend.  Can you believe that it’s almost Labor Day?  I know that I sure can’t.
