Flamingo

I don’t know about you guys, but I am a huge fan of the off-the-shoulder trend this season.  And when you add in little pink flamingos?  That is perfection, in my book!

Plaid Shirt Dress

If you don’t have a go-to plaid shirt dress in your wardrobe, then I would highly recommend purchasing one in the new year.  They are such a versatile piece that can be dressed up or dressed down and will give you tons of options for different outfits to create in your wardrobe.  A denim vest is also an excellent choice if you are looking to add a few new silhouettes to your closet in 2016!  Be sure to shop my favorite plaid dresses and vests below!

Pansies

I love a good floral dress-especially if it’s long-sleeved!  And Lulu’s is always a favorite place to find affordable dresses for any occasion.  So when I was on the hunt for the perfect Easter dress, their website was the first place I looked!  And while I am not sure if this is what I will wear to celebrate Easter this weekend, I do know that it is a piece that is going to get a lot of wear in my closet this Spring!

MashUp

Sometimes one of my favorite things about fashion is paring things together that don’t necessarily go together.  And the mashup of this skirt and top is a prime example. But I have to say, I am loving the unexpected contrast of neon back to classic black and white.  And can we talk about this necklace from Ily Couture for minute?  Talk about swoon-worthy!  It just might be my favorite accessory of the summer!

Fashion Fusion

I had such a fantastic time at the Fall Fashion Fusion event at Fashion Place Mall last Friday.  From the red carpet arrival, to the VIP treatment, and all of the goodies c/o Fashion Place, I felt pretty darn special.  And not only that, but show was fun and inspiring and of course I always LOVE seeing the designs created by the students at the Fashion Institute. And with that, I thought I might end the week by sharing some photos from the evening with all of you!

Making Me Blush

I love the color blush. It really is the perfect neutral. And while I usually find myself preferring to rough it up a bit by pairing it back to more military inspired ensembles, sometimes I just can’t help but want to feel ultra girly and style my blush back to something sweet-maybe like a little lace peplum…

Pops of Neon

I LOVE adding pops of neon to an outfit (you can see some examples here, here, here, and here)-such a great way to add a little interest to an otherwise simple ensemble.  I am also finding that I am loving adding pops of neon back to prints.  And even though prints are fun on their own, those little neon accents just take them to the next level-an instance where more is more and not less.

That said, I recently purchased the below dress for three reasons:  1.  It reminds me of this Marc Jacobs dress that I LOVE, 2.  It is black so I can wear it to work with a cardi or blazer, 3.  The cute little heart print is just begging to be paired back to a little neon and some fun accessories.

Dress:  Macy’s Junior’s Department (recent)

Vest:  Macy’s Junior’s Department (recent)

Neon Pink Belt:  Macy’s

Necklaces:  Tiffany, My collection of charms, Forever21

Bracelets:  H&M, Forever21, Tiffany, Macy’s

Watch:  Michael Kors via Macy’s

Hot Pink Druzy Ring:  Amanda Lynne Luxe (etsy)

Sunglasses:  Michael Kors via Nordstrom Rack

Shoes:  Aldo via Nordstrom (sold out)

The first time I wore this dress to work, I literally had people stopping me to ask where I found it.  And of course everyone was surprised when I told them I found it in the junior’s department at Macy’s (and for only $18!!!).  And while I don’t always shop in the Junior’s section, I do think it is worth checking out now and again.  A lot of companies are now targeting the “millenial” customer who they see as a shopper between the ages of 16-31.  So the breadth of assortment is slowly but surely imporving to garner a larger target audience who is on the hunt for more affordable and fashion forward pieces.

Hooray!
