I am really into graphic tees right now. Like, really into them. I love the idea of throwing on a tee-shirt back to a ripped up pair of jeans and then adding fancy heels and accessories to dress up the look. I guess maybe it makes me a feel a little rock and roll. Plus, it’s a great way to be super comfy while looking put together at the same time.

So I have to say, as much as I love graphic tee’s, I do find it a little difficult to find a good one. It seems to me that more often than not, the sayings on them tend to be a little young, or too cliché for me to want to broadcast on my body. Whether it be home decor, clothing, or accessories, I love anything animal print. In fact, my favorite leopard pants are always a favorite on rotation in my closet. And with cooler temps just around the corner, anything leopard feels pretty darn fitting. Don’t you think?

Summer Nights

Last night J and I went with some of our best friends to see one of our favorite musicians at one of the most beautiful amphitheaters ever-Michael Franti and Spearhead at Red Butte Gardens. It was an absolutely perfect night and we had an amazing time. And even though it was a little hot, we still decided to ride our vintage cruisers to the show so we didn’t have to deal with parking-and it was well worth the sweat. A perfect summer night that only served to remind me why I never want to see summer go…

While this outfit is extremely casual, I have to say that I am loving all of the playful colors. Red and pink are a favorite color combo of mine and I am loving the pops of neon back to the mirrored aviators. Who says comfort can’t be fun?

Skater

Even though I am sure they are different today (and as silly as they still are), I can’t help but remember the names of all of the different cliques at my high school: the preppies, the slippies, the jocks, the popular kids, the smokers, the drama kids, the choir kids (that was me), and last but not least, the skaters. And I swear, when skater dresses became popular this year, all I could think of were the skaters I knew in high school. Silly story, but true none-the-less. And while, of course, I do love a good skater dress-I am especially loving them right now. Because they have a tight bodice, a higher waist, and a full skirt, they are ideal back to jackets and cardigans, which makes them a perfect transitional piece from summer to fall, or back to school.

I can’t believe that I have never tried a pair of Sole Society shoes before. I actually picked up this pair (for a steal!) when I was in San Francisco for meetings last week. And I have to say, I am super impressed. Not only are they super cute and affordable, but the quality is great and they are comfortable to boot. They have definitely earned a fan and a return customer in me!

Tour of Utah

The Tour of Utah was this weekend and J and I were lucky enough to score VIP tickets to the stage 4 circuit race in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday evening. And because we knew thousands of people would be heading downtown for the event, we decided to ride our cruisers to the Capital building-the location of the Start/Finish. And while I obviously wanted to look nice for the event, I also had to be practical when choosing an outfit that could not only stand up to the heat, but that would also be comfortable for a bike ride as well. And I have to say, one of my favorite dresses of the summer did just the trick…

I will always have a love affair with my home state of Montana. There is just something so special about it that I can’t explain. It was the most incredible place to grow up and someday I hope I can raise my children there, or that it will, at the very least, be an important part of their lives too.
