Holiday Ready

One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is dressing up for Holiday parties. And sequins of course. Lots and lots of sequins! So when I saw this darling silver matte sequin swing dress at Fira (one of my favorite online boutiques), I knew it would be perfect for the holiday season!

For today’s post, I’m styling it with a gorgeous blush jacket (that is UNDER $40, BTW), and my favorite floral crown, by the talented Miss Stevi Marie. But I already have a laundry list of other ways I plan to wear this dress over the coming weeks. In fact, I’m thinking of wearing it over a Christmas plaid button down to a party this coming weekend. Faux Fur

When I was in the 3rd grade, my auntie gave me a gorgeous white fur coat for Christmas. And let me tell you, I was absolutely enamored with it. That is until I overheard she and my mom talking about it on the phone and the fact that it was made from “bunnies”. And after I heard that, I never wore the coat again. But even though I learned form a very young age that I was not a proponent of real fur, I did stumble upon a love for faux fur that has never wavered. And every year when the temperature drops, I look forward to pulling out all of my faux fur pieces, especially my faux fur vests!!

Winter Pastels

I love that it’s perfectly acceptable to wear pastels any time of the year now. So when I saw this pale pink sweater at JCrew recently, I was immediately drawn to it. Not only do I love the color, but it’s a nice relaxed fit which is little bit on the longer side, though not quite tunic length-which is a favorite silhouette of mine. I know that this will be a piece that I can style a multitude of different ways this season. And if you aren’t into pink (or pastels in the winter for that matter!), don’t worry, it comes in a ton of other colors too!

My motto this season? Fringe, fringe, and MORE fringe! I am loving everything from footwear, to bags, to apparel. And while I think every gal should own a couple of fringe pieces in her closet this Fall (even just one is ok!), this is a great example of trend that may or may not still be around next season. So while it’s fun for right now in 2015, my advice is to be smart about your fringe purchases and not invest too much $ wise. Case and point are the shoes in today’s post. I have been eyeing for them for what seems like forever, but I just didn’t want to commit to the price tag. So when they finally went on major sale, I pounced. And you know what? I know I’ll have fun wearing them, but that I definitely won’t feel badly about buying them if fringe isn’t all the rage next season.
