It’s such an easy combo and works perfectly for so many different types of events and outings. I love a great chambray dress. It is the epitome of casual chic, and a perfect (and super easy) piece for summer that also transitions well into Fall! I especially love to style mine back to neutral accessories and gold jewelry and love the extra glam factor that a floppy hat and white bag can add. Casual Friday

Blogging is a very interesting world to be a part of. In fact, all of social media for that matter. We have the option to share with the world only what we want them to see-often times making our lives seem a little (or a lot) more perfect and glamorous than they really maybe are. Truth be told, I have a very demanding full-time job and so when I take photos for this blog, half the time I’m throwing something together as my husband is running out the door for work and we snap off a few rushed photos with our neighbors looking on (surely thinking we’re crazy). It’s not a fancy affair by any means (one of these days I’ll have to do an outfit outtake post so you guys can see just how awkward I really am in front of the camera). And while I try my best to give you guys a variety of outfit ideas from week to week, in my real, day-to-day life, I am pretty casual. When I think of holiday fashion, I think about dressing up-sequins and sparkles, high heels and statement jewelry, and lots and lots of red. But one thing I don’t often plan, or think about for that matter, is a comfy, cozy outfit to wear for lounging around on Christmas in between opening presents and dinner festivities. And so today, I wanted to share a look that is festive enough to wear for the holidays, while still being super comfy and at the same time!

If you were to run into me on a typical Saturday in the Fall, I would most likely be wearing something similar to today’s outfit. In my book, it’s tough to beat a staple chambray shirt (plaid is also often on repeat), my favorite skinnies, a vest for layering, and a pair of boots comfy enough for running errands or cheering my hubby on at a Cyclocross race. This is definitely my go-to fall look, and if I am being honest, it has been for the last couple of years. Not super exciting, I know. But sometimes practicality wins out over fashion…

There is almost nothing I love more than attending the first official BBQ of spring. But truth be told, I don’t find them to be the easiest of occasions to dress for. Probably because as much as I love high heels and jewelry, they unfortunately aren’t the best accessory choices for a back yard get together. But through a little trial and error, I think I have come up with a foolproof outfit combo that not only lets me be comfy and appropriate for such occasions, but even a little stylish too…

Come Fly With Me

I am on the road a lot for work. And because I am in stores when traveling and have to wear all black, dressing for travel tends to be a fairly easy task. But when I travel for leisure, I find dressing for flights is not quite as easy. Comfort is key, but for me, sweat pants are definitely not an option. Instead, I like to select outfits that are not only comfortable and casual, but that are also just fashionable enough to have the ability to take me straight from the airport to lunch, dinner, drinks, or wherever I might need to go when I land!

J and I spent this past weekend in North Dakota visiting his family before his parents make the move to Montana in April. It was a bittersweet trip, but we had a fabulous time and shared lots of laughs and memories with two very special grandma’s, Justin’s mom and dad, and an amazing group of aunties, uncles, cousins, and extended family. It was a very special weekend and I am feeling extra blessed to have married into such a wonderful family!
